21 | I'm skeptical | Luke 14:26 | GeorJoy | 101365
Perhaps dear soul, you should consider changing your name. For from the tone of your note, you’re not seeking anything. You are stating! If you are serious, you should consider a "bible teaching" church. "Seek, and ye shall find. State, and you may reveal your ignorance." Ignorance may cause one to wind up in Hades, but in and of itself, ignorance is not a sin, and will not “send” anyone to Hell. Refusal of knowledge; now that’s a different story all together. All are ignorant in many ways. Is it a sin for one to refuse knowledge? No. Is it smart? You have correctly labeled some Christians, for as yourself, where the Word is concerned, many Christians are utterly ignorant with the exception of a few verses they have picked up here and there or, perhaps a passage or two they have half heartedly read or heard someone ignorantly quote. Are those people "ultimately" responsible for the condition of your immortal soul or anyone’s, other than their own? Is it possible that you may have read the verse I suggested? If so, what did it say? I believe it said something about the word “study.” How much of the Word have you “studied?” You may struggle with what “(YOU CALL,) the fact that the Bible cannot be taken at face-value (it doesn't mean what it says).” But, DEAR SOUL, I have got news for you, and anyone else who displays their ignorance by making such a statement; THE Word SAYS WHAT THE LORD MEANS AND MEANS EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS. Our ignorance of that fact and inability to interpret and apply Gods Word in its (entirety,) is not going to be an excuse when we stand before the judgment seat. Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, Dear soul, do you have any idea where the bible originated, what language or languages it was written in. Do you know anything concerning the interpretation of those languages? It would be a trivial task for even a young child who has regularly attended Sunday school to thoroughly explain the topics you have pointed out. I pray that you are not as you have portrayed in your note, for if you are, you would not listen. Yet there is still hope… For “all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God, and He is not will in that anyone should parish." You; not I nor anyone else, are ultimately responsible for the eternal condition or your immortal soul. seeking4truth, my words may not be easy to swallow. They may stir your anger and wrath. But as medicine and treatment for the mortal body is often painful, so is truth. I’m not investing my time to tell you what you want to hear, or what you may agree with. Through my blessings, I am attempting to bring to light what you say you are seeking. It is now up to you. My prayer for you seeking4truth is that when truth is in front of you, you will recognize it. May His Grace allow your eyes to see, and heart to hear, and may He open your heart to take these strong words in the mending context they are intended. Exhorting In Christ George |

22 | Did Jesus teach hate? | Luke 14:26 | GeorJoy | 101197
It is all in the translation. Dear soul, if you are really seaking for truth, then keep this great truth in mind. Though diverse passages in scripture may at times seem a contridiction to our unlearned mind, the Holy Bible IS THE WORD OF GOD. It does not contradict itself. THOUGH MANY WILL DISSAGREE, THERE ARE NO ERRORS THEREIN! THE ONLY ERRORS WHERE THE (KJV)BIBLE IS CONCERNED, RESIDE BETWEEN THE EARS OF THOSE WHO DISAGREE. The way we understand a particular passage may make it seem it does err, but it does not. In the passage you quote the word "hate" simply means "to love less." The bible also says to honor thy father and mother, yet there is a passage that states "And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven." I would lovingly suggest that if you are sincere where your screen name is concerned, and that if you never, ever do anything else in your entire life that is worthwile, you do this one thing... (see 2Ti 2:15.) For if you follow this simple instruction, I promice that you will one day be richer than you can now imagine. There are those who seek, but never find. There are those who seek, and due to a lack of knowledge are led to the slaughter. Jesus said, "I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me." Mat 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: What more can be said? In Christ George |

23 | Should one try to be clear or muddled? | 1 Pet 3:15 | GeorJoy | 101194
Oh Lord! anyone who knows anything about the person behind this keyboard, knows that I would love to answer these questions, sword in hand and, face to face with the ("humanist" or "so called Christian" who would rather not offend the world than to witness THE Word,) who asked them! This IS what I meant when I said in my profile that "some bring out the first of the transitive senses of my gift" of Exhortation... Some of my previous posts on this fourm, particularily those pertaining to homosexuality, marriage and even some noted to and in response to justme will set the tone for my answers to such questions. 24 | Will we have physical or spiritual bodie | Bible general Archive 2 | GeorJoy | 101106
What one "thinks" is of no value. What the Word says is of great value concerning this and any other subject one might think of. If you are interested in truth, ask and you will recieve. Otherwise, be careful of what others "think." George |

25 | Did John the Baptist eat fruit or bugs? | Mark 1:6 | GeorJoy | 101104
Lotus' and honey are all that are spoken of in the Word. Beyond that, if I were him, I'd have tried to snare a bird, squirrel, rabbit, billie goat, mule, ass, sheep, camel, anything to get just a little more variety, and some meat in my diet. George |

26 | Is obedience to every command necessary? | NT general Archive 1 | GeorJoy | 101022
I have been baptized, and I have heard it said that a Christian must be baptized. Yet I can find nothing in the word that says such. If one is to advance beyond simple salvation and grow spiritually, one must be baptized. To receive the Holy Spirit, one must be baptized. Yet "Salvation" requires nothing more than to believe in Jesus Christ; that He died on the cross and paid the penalty for our sins; confess our sins, to forsake them and live for him... Baptism is a symbol and a display of ones faith. It is not a requirement for salvation. Salvation is a gift by Grace... Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. It was not said "through faith and baptism." I find 59 verses in the KJV with a form of the word "baptize." Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mar 16:16 is the closest verse I can find that could be construed as to mean that to be saved, one must be baptized. Yet, even this verse does not make this statement. Neither does it say "but he that (is baptized) not shall be damned." The blood of Jesus Christ has provided salvation for all who believe, for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Rom 10:10 George |

28 | History Channel: Who Wrote the Bible? | 2 Tim 3:16 | GeorJoy | 100660
I didn't see it, but if it they stated anything other than the fact that"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:," they probably didn't know what they were talking about, for; 2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. They are mostly; 2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Though, as I said I did not see the program you speak of; in this self centered and pleasure seaking society today, I would be very surprised if I have not just discribed that program to a tee. 29 | How do you put this into practice? | Ps 46:10 | GeorJoy | 100325
Don't be overly anxious, energetic or enthusiastic. ASV Mat 6:34 Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. ASV Mat 6:27 And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto the measure of his life? Luk 10:41 But the Lord answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and troubled about many things: Luk 12:26 If then ye are not able to do even that which is least, why are ye anxious concerning the rest? 30 | How do we preach the Gospel? | 1 John 2:2 | GeorJoy | 100324
You need not inquire as to their sins; Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Simply inform them that Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; --- but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. --- Yet Mat 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. And that Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever --- believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.--- Joh 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Don't make it complicated. It isn't. In fact, it is so simple that, in this complicated society, we fail to understand such simplicity... And whatever you do.... Don't forget to 2Ti 2:15 ---Study--- to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Next time, you will be answering the question, for Pro 8:32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. And Luk 11:28 ..., blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. In Christ George |

31 | Why is "5" referred to as grace. | Bible general Archive 2 | GeorJoy | 100223
At the risk of revealing my ignorance, I'd like to ask. If 7 means completion, then how could 8 mean a new beginning? It would seem that there would be no 8 if it is as you state. I'm sure that somewhere, somehow your question has a basis of validity. I'm really looking forward to finding out where and how. As to what the number 5 has to do with grace... Not that, I am really looking forward to finding out... I'll admit, I have yet to thoroughly "study" the entire Word, particularily the book of Revelations. I do remember various references to the number 2 as in "where two or mor are gathered in my name...," the number 3 as in the Trinity, the number"s" 6 as in the mark of the beast, and the number 7 as in the seven seals etc. This brings to mind another question. Yours is about 5; what about 4? Just pondering. I'm sure someone has a serious answer. I hope so anyway. I really want to see it. George |

33 | Crucified Christians? | Gal 2:20 | GeorJoy | 99615
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Christ died on the cross to pay the sin price for ALL who accept Him as Savior, Men, Women, Black, White, etc, etc, "ALL." Why would you think his atonement would exclude women? George |

I've not done much studying on the subject, but from what little of the surface I have scratched, I would say that the "Shroud of Turrin" is probably the best likeness to be found. It appears to me that many artist's renditions, (although as Hank stated, they can only be attributed to the artist's imagination,) of our Lords likeness, would support this statement. I would have to say that DarcyA's post quoting John 20:29, pretty much says it all. George |

38 | re: Jesus' age | NT general Archive 1 | GeorJoy | 95011
There is no statement in scripture as to Christ's actual age when He was crucified. There is evidence though that would suggest that He was between 33 and 34. I hope I have been of assistance. George |

39 | how do I know if God is speaking to me | John | GeorJoy | 95000
I once called it a "gut feeling." Whenever I went against that feeling, I was inevitably wrong. Since learning how to walk in the Spirit, I no longer call it a "gut feeling," for I now reconize that "gut feeling" for what it really is. George |
