181 | Do we go directly to Heaven? | Bible general Archive 1 | Norrie | 72057
No offense, but you better find a better place to copy and paste from instead of that apostasyic (I made that word up because I couldn't think of anything to sum up how ridiculous that is) fairytale! If you want to believe garbage, that's your right but don't contaminate those who might not know better, I do believe Jesus had some words about leading others astray...
182 | Are we not judged by how we vote? | 2 John 1:11 | Norrie | 71896
"In heaven there will be no Republicans, Democrats, Conservatives, or Independents. " I noticed you left out Liberals. :) It will be easier for a liberal to go thru the eye of a needle than to enter into Heaven. |

184 | Was "James" used prior to KJV ? | Bible general Archive 1 | Norrie | 70959
You're right, but back then, they didn't want anybody to read the Bible. That was back when only priests were allowed access, not common man. Tyndale was endeavoring to get the Word to the common man. Now we have man perverting the Word, which is worse?
185 | Was "James" used prior to KJV ? | Bible general Archive 1 | Norrie | 70953
I read an historical novel before that had Tyndale in it. It hit on how he had to go into hiding and them smugging the Bibles back into England, it was a really good book, by Gilbert Morris, the Winslow series. They (church) sure didn't want to get the Word out, did they?
186 | who figured out Jesus's outlook ? | Is 53:2 | Norrie | 70911
How do you KNOW this is how they looked? I would think they'd look like they do now and the pictures of Jesus came from what the Europeans thought because that's what they looked like.
187 | Was "James" used prior to KJV ? | Bible general Archive 1 | Norrie | 70910
What about the Tyndale Bible, where does it fit in?
188 | Do you own a TNIV? | Bible general Archive 1 | Norrie | 69037
I personally don't like the NIV. My daughter has to use it for school. She has to memorize Eph 6 and it was so vague compared to KJV or NKJ that you had to really make a leap to understand it. I don't have one handy to look at but I remember the verse where it lists the principalities, it said authorities and my daughter thought policemen, that's how vague it is, didn't even realize it was talking about the demonic realms.
189 | John8:24 and John8:57-58 | Ex 3:14 | Norrie | 69035
Robert, We've been studying John in Sun School and several times He said He was God besides there. I remember my pastor preaching on that too and got the tape. :) BTW, it's sister, not brother. :) But I'm not one of those that likes to be called Sister _____, I grew up Cath and that just reminds me of being a nun-no thanks! :) Norrie |

190 | Why is marijuana use prohibited? | Heb 13:17 | Norrie | 68271
Well said. :) | ||||||
191 | Why is marijuana use prohibited? | Heb 13:17 | Norrie | 68245
Exactly how sandy do you want your beach, whatever you want. :) OK, we have determined smoking pot in not good in any way possible at all, now if we can just get the world to understand that! |

192 | Why is marijuana use prohibited? | Heb 13:17 | Norrie | 68187
"Could you please elaborate where the Bible "clearly states that we are not to follow laws that are against God's teachings?" Are you saying that using marijuana is 'of' God's teachings?" The first thing that comes to mind is abortion, it's legal but immoral. I think maybe that's the type of laws he was thinking of. Otherwise, he puits a good case about not smoking. Shoot, I smoked for 30 yrs, nobody would have known unless I let it be known. I know all the arguments for pot and I know the pitfalls too. I would NEVER recommend smoking pot to anyone. I see too many people who think pot is harmless go crazy and do stupid stuff to get it, it's not harmless and it is addictive no matter what's said about it. Otherwise, why would so-called Christian parents lose their house over it or why would someone on parole for it risk going back to prison for it??? Why would someone on work release give it all up just for a few tokes, esp if you've been off it for months? If you believe it's not addicting, I got some ocean front property in Nebraska I want to unload... |

193 | I won"t be saved if I don't tithe | 2 Corinthians | Norrie | 63399
Why are you so against titheing? I've found out from experience those against it usually just don't want to give. Mal 3:10 gives the blessing for those that tithe, I want my blessing. :)
194 | I won"t be saved if I don't tithe | 2 Corinthians | Norrie | 63336
Abraham tithed to Melchizedek (Gen. 14:18-20) and this was before the law of Moses so tithing is before the Law.
195 | Is praying to created beings scriptural? | Bible general Archive 1 | Norrie | 62791
This could be interpreted as we will have access to God who is the divine nature, not that we get a divine nature, we will gain Heaven.
196 | Is praying to created beings scriptural? | Bible general Archive 1 | Norrie | 62788
I believe that corprate prayer would be covered under where 2 or more are gathered in My Name. That is all praying in Jesus' Name. I think we can only be in communion w/the living, once someone is dead, we can't communicate with them even when they are in Heaven. Why would I want to ask my dead grandmother to pray for me when I can go directly to Jesus? She can't hear me anyway so I'm wasting my time in more ways than one. :)

198 | Is it wrong to preach against sin? | Matt 7:2 | Norrie | 60658
OK, I concede!!! But you get tired of people interpreting the words wrong, esp when they like to argue wrong meanings. :)
199 | Is it wrong to preach against sin? | Matt 7:2 | Norrie | 60590
I guess if you get permission from one who writes post, you can use it. Prayon said you could use hers too. :) If occassionally I was blessed enough to write something really good, I'd want it read by those it may help. I have Delphi forum, talks about everything from politics to religion. Sometimes it gets a little heated there. :) http://forums.delphiforums.com/unitedchristia1/start |
