162 | Power over death? | Not Specified | justme | 207007
Hebrews 2:14,15 "Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,(15) and might free thosewho through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives." C. Gordon Olson in his book GETTING THE GOSPEL RIGHT published by Global Gospel Publishers 2005 Olson says on page 29, "Even the power of death was delegated to Satan. Obviously God's exercise of His sovereignty has been limited thereby. God retains the ultimate sovereignty but has allowed Satan and fallen man to do their own thing in opposition to Him." After looking as several commentaries I am confused. Did or does Satan have the power of death? If Satan has the power of death then how does this fit with Psalm 139:16 where it states our days have been written in a book before we were even born, and our days are ordained by God? justme |

163 | Please pray for the election | Not Specified | justme | 207706
PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER THIS BUT LET IT SAY UP FOR A WHILE. I would ask the Forum to pray that the ONLY Right to Life person running for President select a Vice president that is not a member of a Cult. Should a member of a Cult be selected as Vice President this might help elect a President that believes in killing the unborn JUSTME |

165 | Transplants, a matter of ethics? | Not Specified | justme | 212235
This is an ethics question. Is it Biblical to have an organ transplant? We now have the ability to transplant the Liver, Heart, Lungs, Kidney, Bones, Veins, Arteries, Skin, eye lense tissue, hand, finger and toe, and perhaps more that I don't remember. This last week a Face transplant took place, the first in the USA. There have been people who have received a transplanted major organ and have had personality quirks that are unexplained. Those with the transplanted organ have suddenly taken on some of the donors likes and dislikes. If the personality quirks are real, this might be something to seriously consider what the Bible might suggest in some way. Is it possible that memory might be a part of the organs DNA? I am looking for something that might tie into a Biblical response either for support or rejection of some or all transplants. This is a serious issue as more body parts are being transplanted. Thank you for you answer. justme |

166 | The United Stated in the Bible | Not Specified | justme | 212996
The United States is not mentioned or given a hint of in the Bjble. Is it a possibility, because the US stands firmly behind Israel, that the US might be seen as insarable from Israel? Any thoughts on or about this? |

167 | HOW DO WE HELP THOSE IN NEED? | Not Specified | justme | 214435
These are very hard times for many people, and Christians as well. We have started sharing food with those who are struggling just to pay for housing, utilities and food and gas. This has opened a door for us to show our good deeds and Christian love for our neighbors. We open the door to those people in need with "AMISH FRIENDSHIP BREAD". We are deeply concerned at the number of older persons in serious financial need. Their spiritual need is even greater as we have discovered. All of the people we have been able to meet with do not qualify for EBT cards, which is the new food stamp program. Most all make too much for financial State help. Seven hundred dollars is all our state allows for a couple to make and get a little help. Local food pantries are maxed out, even some churches have financial shortages as well. My question is has anyone found another way to open the door to reach those in deep need. We don't just see this in unsaved people but many Christians are living in faith depending on the Lord for their needs day by day. We live in an area that basically is settled by hard working people, or those who are retired. Many who are retired can no longer live on what retirement brings in. We personally are blessed and the Lord is good. We are looking into ways to help we have not thought of. We are touched by the saying, No one cares how much you know; Until they know how much you care. This is not orignal to us we read it some where. Any ideas would be gladly be appreciated. justme |

168 | Resurrection Day, not easter! | Not Specified | justme | 215226
I have just spent a long time on the Christian Post. It makes me so very sad to see the word easter, to describe the RESURRECTION DAY OF JESUS! Think who is honored when we use the word easter? Eastar was the goddess of fertility and the celebration of this satanic goddess was easter, thus easter eggs and bunnies. Every Resurrection Day we continue we continue to let the wong word for the most Holy Day to be called the worng word. This grieves me deeply. justme |

169 | Dialogue with KJV only person? | Not Specified | justme | 215814
How does a person respectfully and kindly Attempt to dialogue with someone who believes the only inspired Bible is the King James Bible? Just saying I would rather not get into this subject has not been fruitful, and made the KJV person come and insist we dialogue. They even believe the NASB was translated by some evil people.
170 | Two literal Bibles, what's different? | Not Specified | justme | 216138
With so many good translations of Scripture I am amazed that there continues to be more translations made. In comparing the NASB and the ESV what is the real difference that makes one better than the other? I have both and wonder what the main difference is? Justme |

171 | Is murder ever right? | Not Specified | justme | 216269
Yesterday, Sunday May 31,2009 Dr. Tiller of Kansas was killed by a gunman. Dr. Tiller had done more than 80,000 late abortions. Dr, Tiller had no restrictions as to how late term the abortions was. Many babile would have lived if allowed to be born. I do not ever think murder is right. But I have very mixed feelings about "Killer Tiller". I have strong feelings about taking the law into ones hands as well. In light of Psalm 139 how do we understand how these killings of 80,000 helpless and weak children? How should we feel about Dr. Tiller and his outright death? justme |

175 | TNIV ended and new NIV release ? | Not Specified | justme | 219006
A fellow Christian Book store employee ttold me he was told the TNIV has stopped production due to dismal sales. That the revised NIV to be out in 2011 will be a blending of the TNIV and NIV. Has anyone had more factual word on this? Personally I (along with our dear brother Hank and many others who of you previewed found the TNIV) think the TNIV was at best a serious mistake. So no great loss to dump the TNIV. Perhaps the revision of the NIV will have the same mistakes as the TNIV. Has anyone gathered any information an either the TNIV or the revised NIV? Thanks, justme |

176 | Correct Understanding of verses? | Not Specified | justme | 219200
I was reading a note written by our dear Brother Hank, who now is with the Father the Son and Holy Spirit. Hank wrote this back in 2001, so his wisdon continues on. Hank suggested the person read Titus 3:9. Hank was in a dialogue about the LAW. Recent there has been some dialogue abouth this very subject. It pains me that those who believe the keeping of the LAW are so adamant that those who do not believe the way they do, are or as I understand their dialogue, not true believers. My question is keeping the LAW not more than just keeping the Ten Commandments? I believe there are many more rules besides the Ten Comandments, is this not so? I think Hebrews 6:4-6 addresses this, am I correct in this understanding of these verses. I know these are a good number of questions. I am seeking to see if my understanding of the above questions is correct or am I in error. Thank you for you time to answer my questions. justme |

178 | Request and a Question | Not Specified | justme | 219444
I am rather frustrated and have a question and request. The question is why some newer participants on the Study Bible Forum have not gone to the Updade User Info. and given something about yourselves. After 10 or 15 posts it would seem you would want to post something about yourselves. Why not join the rest of us? In the book of Acts is where bleievers started to be called Christians. Why would anyone so reject using the name to be called by as Christians? Are you ashamed of the wonderful name of Christ to the point you are rejecting or ashamed of Christ? When believers reject the name of Christ there is a serious flaw in your thinking. Why are you timid about carring the name of Christian, when Christ died so you could bare His name? Personally I think no one should be allowed to post more than twenty times before using the Update User Info. or you are not allowed to post anymore until you do. Any thoughts on this idea? justme |

179 | Is there a reason to debate? | Not Specified | justme | 219918
Is not the real truth, that Jesus Christ died and rose again? If you think it was Thursday or Friday that Jesus died on the cross, the real fact is Jesus is alive! I doubt anyone will change my opinion that Friday was the day jesus died on the crosss. For those who think it was another day I am sure their mind can not be changed either. This debate is like how many angels can stand on the head of a needle. Jesus lives and so we all can indeed celebrate the brith of Jesus Christ! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL justme |

180 | Praying right? | Not Specified | justme | 220458
In Psalm 139 it says before we were even born God knows our days from birth to our death, and because I have surrendered to Jesus Christ as my Lord I am going to be with Him. Is praying for a longer life, I am praying to live until I am 75, not in His will? justme I am wondering because the LORD knows all of my life span, am I asking something against His will. |
