harpin4Jesus: We can follow the Church that started in Jerusalem in 33A.D.and spread from there abroad beginning in the book of Acts chapter 8.in 38 A.D. 1. And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles. Now the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit fell in the upper room was dated around 33 A.D. This was the start of thousands commiting their lives to Christ Jesus. Acts 8 is dated around 38 A.D. when we recieve salvation which is of the Lord... do we lose our own free will to choose God's way or the worlds way? are we no longer a free moral agent to do as we please? Mat 6:24. No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. must we not choose or is that right taken away when we chose Christ? as much as we love the Lord is it not written: KJV 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 9. Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10. Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. now these things I once was but am not any more. But do I lose my freewill to do these things again. If I chose to do the things again such as getting drunk and committing adultery and the word says that "these" shall not enter the Kingdom of God. I am scared to death of God's Judgement and fear to test God to see if He allows such to enter into His Kingdom.Knowing what His word says..."THESE SHALL NOT ENTER" is enough to keep the fear of God where it needs to be. I would much rather hear: ASV Matthew 25:21 21. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord. I am glad that my salvation is dependant upon Jesus Christ alone..but I can't act as though I haven't seen what God says in His word. God Bless |

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? it is God's way Johnny...my original post was #69532 the question about the if's in the Bible and how that I am struggleing with them..now I ran aross this post and it kind of goes with what I was looking at...well in a round about way...now as I stated I FEAR GOD and to think that many people still do things that the Lord says that these people will not enter into The Kingdom of God makes me struggle with the fact that we still have the right to chose what we will do and if we do the things that God says such will not enter in then are we going to enter in? being lead by the Spirit and following where the Spirit leads are based upon our free choice...I choose God's way and God's leadership and I don't think you can do as you want to against God and recieve a well done my good and faithful servant... The Bible is Right...the momment that we give our life to Jesus we start a new life...its called the new birth as in John 3 when we are born of the spirit...2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ,he is a new creature:old things are passed away;behold,all things are become new...you may look like the same person on the outside but the minute that you recieve Jesus as your Savior your newness of life starts...consider that person dead is what the Lord is telling us...the new life that we live is for the Lord...our past life is not who we are anymore...we are to be dead to sins...before our salvation we were alive in sin,living anyway the devil wanted us to...God forbid we should live like that in our new life(Romans 6:2)...just a little testamony in that I hate the person I was before Jesus saved me...when I recieved Jesus I was glad that person died...soon after I got Baptized,and have been going full blast since then...Thank the Lord for the new life...when does it start...the minute you ask Jesus to come into your heart...God Bless | ||||||

The Bible is Right...we sure do rise to walk in a newness of life...and I am a true believer in that we should be baptized...but our salvation and newness of life begins when we "die" to our old self and start our new life through Jesus Christ...if you recieved the Lord on a Monday,and did not get baptized until Sunday,do you begin your new life on Sunday after your baptized or on the Monday when you recieved Jesus into your heart...the answer would be on Monday for this is when you died to the old self...now in the scripture our baptism is an outward expression of an inward action that has taken place,you rise to walk in newness of life as soon as you recieve Jesus...the result of your newness of life will be wanting to follow what the Lord wants you to do(repent and be baptised)which represents the likeness of His death,burial,and resurrection...and also communion which represents his body and bloodshed for us...I would recomend reading these scriptures and then compare them with Romans 6:4...Romans 7:6,2Corinthians 5:17.,Gal 6:15,,Eph 4:23and Col 3:10...as for the resurrection I will get back to you on that as I must go for right now...God Bless | ||||||

The Bible is Right...your original question was when does newness of life start...I said the moment that you recieve Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior...Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,thou shalt be saved.10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved....I would not want to put off baptism so please don't miss understand me...but our newness of life begains at our conversion...there are many in the jails,nursing homes,hospitals,at the sceen of accidents,in planes crashing that dont have the oppertunity to be baptised before death but have called upon the name of the Lord...I believe they are walking in the newness of life...as far as putting of following what the Lord wants us to do...well, I will let God judge their thoughts and the intents of their hearts...God Bless | ||||||

wow The Bible is Right...I can not believe this is still going on...I usually ask a question and read the answers I get...Praise God when it helps me and Praise God when it doesn't...but to go on and on about something and trying to change the way we are saved (which I believe is not by works)...well I think there is a time to just leave it in the Lords hands and move on...I would like to see us get on with something more... I think its all been covered, and we love one another in Christ...so we dont always agree...let us please move on...I feel like this is starting to upset you as your answers have been adding exclamation points and things that just are not...well...seasoned with salt...would love to cover some other subject with you...God Bless | ||||||

I have read all of this branch... as I can see no one answering has admitted that they have not been baptised...all that I have noticed agree to be baptised...it is my own estimate that none of us have taken it to lightly as we want to do as the Lord wants us to do...and there has been 87 post in this discussion...do we take it to lightly?...my answer would be no...God Bless | ||||||

Paul is speaking of the 10 commandments as in verse 7 he quotes the 10th commandment...but he also speaks of the law of being married... for a woman is not to marry another as long as her husband lives...but the understanding of what the law does is this...that if we did not know that we broke the law, we would have no need for a Savior to deliver us from our sins...thus the law shows us that we are sinners, in need of forgiveness, which comes through Jesus Christ alone... for I did not know that I was a sinner until God showed me that "thou shalt not" and it was something I had done...well if I had done what God said "thou shalt not" then I find that the law is good because it shows us a need for forgiveness...well because I want to die to the person who had done those things against God by breaking His law...how do I do this..I am seperated through Jesus by death to the old me,which alows me as a dead person who is still breathing, to be remarried...thus becoming a new person through Jesus Christ and giving my life that I now live to Jesus Christ...the old me is dead and the new me is alive and free from the law tha I had broken... maybe this helps you elayne...God Bless |

the children of Israel were looking for the the one that would deliver them and praying to God for it see Exodus 3.9 they knew God long before Egypt. The Passover is about having the blood aplied so that death passes over you...blood of a spotless lamb...JESUS CHRIST....it is all about Jesus and the power of His blood...if the people did not have the blood then it was the same as not believing God the result DEATH wow I am glad I have the blood of Jesus aplied to my life the result...eternal life and a promised city God bless you Pcarr | ||||||

the bondage that Jesus was speaking of was the bondage of sin(verse 34)so they were servants of sin because that they were not accepting the freedom from sin that Jesus was trying to offer them.for whom the son sets free is free indeed (verse 36) if you and I were owners of slaves,and I was your father and you were my son, because we are family as my son you have the right to , by my authority,to set one or all of our slaves free. Its a right that your father gives you.Now Jesus was sent by the Father to set the servants of sin free. For who the son sets free is free indeed but one thing you have to understand is that Jesus says if you countinue in my word(verse 31) but by the time we get to verse(37)Jesus says my word has no place in you.They try to convince Jesus that they are the sons of God but Jesus says by verse(42)that if God were thier Father that they would love Him(Jesus). These are people that refuse to accept Jesus as Gods son. The result is that they are in bondage to sin,refusing to accept the only way to the Father(Jesus) and without Jesus to forgive there sins they are bound to thier father the devil(44)who refuses to and would not live in the truth.Praise God that those of us that accept the son are free from the bondage of sin.You and I could be in slavery which is bondage but our bondage to sin is set free.I hope God continues to bless you Pcarr and keep you studying His Word ... | ||||||
