103 | Father a title or name | Is 9:6 | christian7 | 55371
Makarios...thanks for your reply...I never thought that Jesus was the Father or the Holy Spirit I believe in the trinity...It just sounded like when I heard this teaching that the title seemed to make sense to the Eternal Father statement in Isaiah...the discription ,as you stated also seems to apply in the same way as to the fact that Jesus is the eternal "provider and protector"...as Jesus is our source(of salvation)and sustainer(provider and protector)for eternity...for no man comes unto the Father except through the Son...so now the discription used in Isaiah 9:6 the Eternal Father helps me too better understand how the term can be explained...thanks again for your time and help in this matter...God Bless

seeker78: here are some bible verses that may help you as you seek for your answers. KJV Isaiah 14:12-15 12. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13. For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. KJV Ezekiel 28:13-19 13. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the Beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. 14. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. 16. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. 17. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. 18. Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. 19. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more. Keep turning those pages and may God Bless you as you study His word. k_peace...Many have struggled with this question and there is no proof as to what the thorn is...someone who troubles you is called a pain in the neck in todays time so it might have been someone...the thorn also could be physical such as sickness I have heard it said that his eyesight was bad and that is why he wrote such a large letter to the Galatians 6:11 but know this...whatever the thorn in his flesh was even after going to God about it 3 times...Gods grace is sufficient for him for Gods strength is made perfect in our weakness...when we are weak he is strong...I would also like to add that this thorn kept Paul form thinking more highly of himself than he should...sometimes we as Christians get somewhat high minded (believe me I have seen many)we begin to act as though we have obtained perfection and know it all.. but to keep us on the striaght and narrow I believe God gives each of us some sort of a thorn in the flesh...and I am glad God does ..as I would hate to think more highly of myself than any other person(I have met some). So that even when we are in Christ Jesus doing our best to serve Him we have something in our lives to keep us humble and dependant on Him.If someone tells you a sure answer on this please be carefull God doesn't say what it is...just that whatever it is...Gods strength is made perfect in weakness...God Bless

113 | Who did they see walking on the sea? | Matt 14:26 | christian7 | 56091
hello Ray...I am just wondering if when they saw the "ghost"if it was as in the glory of God and thats what gave them the fear or if they thought of the ghost as someone they knew nothing about...if it is the latter of the two then I would not capitalize...and the way the scripture reads I do not think that they relized that it was Jesus at the time... in the KJV it says they were troubled, saying,it is a spirit, and they cried out for fear...leaving me to think that they did not know what kind of a spirit it was at the time...for this reason I would not capitalize...now if they knew the ghost or spirit was Jesus I would capitalize...just my opinion...God Bless

116 | Discussion Question | Matt 19:24 | christian7 | 61469
Hi prayon: Thank you for answering my question on 1Tim. Now I will take a turn at yours. First question do I believe it is a sin for a Christians to have expensive things? NO. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple: And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre. And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout." A coat without seam was very expensive". They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did. I believe that God has always had wealthy and poor alike for His purposes. As to your question, do I feel God would consider me greedy if I had an excess of money in the bank? NO A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. With money comes great responsibility and I think if you put the Lord first in all things you will do well. As for me I have all the Lord trust me with (which is very little :)) and I am much happier without the stress or worry over having too much of anything. God Bless |

117 | KJV important scripture | Matt 20:23 | christian7 | 56762
KJV...why is being baptized ommitted in other versions?...And he saith unto them,Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with:but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father...this verse shows me that there is something that the deciples were going to recieve that the Lord had...and I do not think he was speaking of water baptism as this had already been done...and if it is as I am thinking then it would be speaking of the Spiritual Baptism, like in 1Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body...For Jesus and the Father And the Spirit were all in one Body...God Bless

120 | Why did JWs make false prophecies? | Matt 24:11 | christian7 | 55807
kalos...to fulfil Gods word...And many false prophets shall deceive many(matt 24:11)...For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders;insomuch that ,if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.(Matt 24:24)(Mark 13:22)...But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you,who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction(2Peter 2:1)...Beloved,believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God:because many false prophets are gone out into the world(1John 4:1)...God said it would be like this...God can,t lie...God Bless
