161 | 1 day is 1000 years, why? | 2 Pet 3:8 | Love Fountain | 39499 | ||
Dear CDBJ, The question I asked you was,"Do you see God's statement that 1000 years to us is as 1 day to God having any reference to time as we know it in referrence to the length of this earth age?" I was asking in regards to the beginning, middle and end which I see as the length of this earth age. My reason for this question has come from the 1 day with God as 1000 years to man referrence which I find myself asking for wisdom and understanding. Recently when reading John 11 about the resurrection of Lazarus, I believe the Holy Spirit gave me a witness to the length of this earth age and how 1000 years to man is 1 day with God. In John 11:17 Jesus comes to Lazarus who has been dead 4 days. I believe these four days are symbolical for the 4000 years that mankind was dead in their sins prior to the birth of Jesus. In John 11:6 Jesus stayed and waited 2 days before going to raise Lazarus from the dead. I believe those 2 days to be symbolical of the 2000 years between Jesus' first and second visit amongst us. Then you have the day that Jesus resurrects Lazarus from the dead, which I believe is symbolic of the 1000 year millenial reign in which we will see the resurrection of the people in Christ and the end of this earth age at the end of the millenium. This is the reason for my question of this earth age being 7 days long to God which is 7000 years to man. What do you think? Bless you, Love Fountain |

Dear CDBJ, Thank you for your honest opinion. You state,"I believe that the Bible should be interpreted at face value and that we should try to understand what the author is trying to convey." If we interpret at face value the following, Luke 14:26 26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. KJV At a face value understanding of the above verse one might think Jesus is saying you cannot be my disciple unless you hate yourself and everyone you know. This of course is not the understanding implied by Jesus but could be misconstrued if accepted at face value. Bless you, Love Fountain Rom 11:33 33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! KJV |

Dear Scribe, 2 Peter 3:7-10 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. KJV Within context from my perspective, the above verses are clearly pointing to the day of judgement and judgement is layed out as an appointed time at which God is longsuffering towards from the beginning to the end, wanting all to come to repentance. Regarding Psalm 90:4, a thousand years in thy(mans) sight are but as yesterday sure sounds like 1 day is a thousand years to me, because yesterday was only a day away and yet it was a thousand years. I am noone and a sinner on top of that maybe this is why I see differently? I do not see this as a new way of calculating time, I see the Holy Spirit giving a witness to another understanding of 1000 years to man is 1 day with God and confirming the appointed time of this earth age, from Adam's birth to the end of the millenium as I have stated to CDBJ. Bless you, Love Fountain 2 Peter 3:13-18 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. 18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. KJV |

Dear Hank, Thank you for your participation in this thread. Please note that the Bible is not a game to me. Bless you, Love Fountain 2 Cor 1:12-14 12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. 13 For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end; 14 As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus. Dear jbagwell, You state,"Of t he 404 verses in Revelation, only 126 contain no allusion to the old testament." Please provide the source for this information. Also, please tell me one of the 126 verses in Revelation that does not allude to the OT? Bless you, Love Fountain Rev 1:1-3 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: 2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. Dear Andrew Jr., Thank you for the response and for the refferal to Romans, I like Romans! Please recall that in Matt 4 and Mark 4 that it was not blood that saved Jesus from the temptation of satan it was the word. I don't believe in the rapture and if anyone or anything shows up at my door saying lets go, I will say have a nice flight. I will stand with the Gospel Armour as told in Ephesian 6 which is put on by reading the Bible and diligently studying because I believe God's will is to stand up for Him and His truth. I see no truth in the rapture. Isn't that the beauty of freewill, you have chosen to believe the rapture and I do not, we are allowed to make our own choices. Bless you in your search for truth, Love Fountain Jer 23:29 29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? KJV Isa 40:8 8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. KJV Heb 4:12 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. KJV |

Dear Listener, Thank you for your response. Many believe we are in the end times and are waiting for the return of Jesus and Rev 6:15 is about the time when Jesus returns, so if this is true, I believe we are the culture this was written to. Anyway, when it says the kings of the earth I would conclude the queens are included. Also, freewomen,bondwomen, etc... I don't think women will be left out or overlooked in anyway. Bless you, Love Fountain Gen 2:24 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. KJV 1 Cor 6:16 16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. KJV Eph 5:31 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. KJV |
