hi, mkm9 Thanks for the clarification never heard the term "cowgirl" used that way before. Let me try to explain church plant alittle more indepth. when I use the term split I am refering to the viloent seperation of a local body over some frivilous arguement. Of course there are other churches involved in a support role. If you would like specific information about this particular work check out our web site www.hopeshere.com As far as to what do I teach maybe disciple would be a better word you see rather than pull members oput of other churches our membership comes from our core group sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and seeing people come to know him as their personal Lord and Savior. Then I help them to grow in the faith til they can go out and reproduce themselves. You see my personal passion is to share the Good News of Christ with everyone He gives me the opportunity to. As far as your comment about following in Him and not denominations I whole hearedly agree although I do work within the Southern Baptist Convention I do not pledge my support to the SBC but I pledge my whole life to Christ. I would love to hear more about your ideas along the lines. In Christ name tgc |

good evening, mkm9 What is a church plant? That is when you start a new church from the ground up. When doing this it is really interesting because you have no building or facilities to work with. My job in the church is the director of outreach ministies. I try to teach people how to share their faith and then convince thwm to go out and do it. And you are right what is"cowgirls"? By the way for a new church to be considered a plant it must be a new work not a result from a split. |

143 | Holy Spirit leaving the earth? | 1 Cor 6:19 | tgc | 120564
Kecia, In answering your question, I believe we should look at 1Thessalonians 4:13 through 5:11: "4:13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive [and] remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words. 5:1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others [do,] but let us watch and be sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. 8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and [as] a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. 11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing." NewKingJamesVersion Throught the rest of this letter, Paul wraps things up in his conclusion. However, immediately as he starts his second letter ( 2Thess), Paul picks up right away with God's final judgement, God's glory and the great apostasy, or falling away. This leads us to to 2Thess. 2:7; "For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains [will do so] until He is taken out of the way." NKJV This verse falls within a long discussion of the end time and what will happen. That is why I felt it is important to set this context. The "He" in this verse is clearly the Holy Spirit and it is my belief that at this time in history the rapture of the Church marks the end of the Holy Spirit's work on earth; and that those who come to Christ thereafter will be in the same situation as the Old Testament believers in that they will not have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. We see the Holy Spirit's everyday work begin at Pentecost and end with the rapture of the Church. I don't mean that the Old Testament beleivers were never indwelled by the Holy Spirit, they were. But these were exceptions to the general rule. And those indwellings were for limited periods of time and for a specific purpose. Samson is just one example. His strength would come when the Spiriut of God fell on him. Yes, the Holy Spirit will leave this earth when Christ raptures His Church. At that time, the age of grace when end and the the tribulation period will begin. Evil will run rampant, good will be called bad, bad will be called good. Persons responded to the Gospel message will be without the indwelling Holy Spirit and many will pay for their belief with their lives. When the hour is darkest and things look like they cannot be any worse, Christ Himself will return aas the Lion of Judah, bringing His Church with Him to destroy all evil and set up His Kingdom. In Christ's Love TGC |

Hi MKM9, Sorry for the delayed response. I've been really busy at work and with new church-plant and family. I may be dense, but I'm not following your reply. Can you offer some clarification? Keep the faith, TGC |

145 | What nonsense is this? | Bible general Archive 2 | tgc | 120135
Being new to this website I do not know how people normally word their questions and answeres. But I do know that in many of our churches if you do not speak christanise your lost in most of the conversations. This has always been a problem for me as we try really hard to get non churched people to come into to the church and run them away with the strange way we talk. In many cases these people thank we are talking down to them and that is terrible. So I guess in a nutshell what I'm tring to say is although these people may wish to seem super spiritual they are most probly hurting the cause of Christ. If you will look at all the gospels Jesus always spoke in lanuage people could understand easily. tgc
