141 | make fallen pastor compelled/leave Apt | Bible general Archive 4 | azurelaw | 235671
Dear Darcella8, Your case looks pretty complicated. Please note that this forum is for Bible study, thus is not an ideal place to deal with your issue. I think you'd better talk to your pastor, elders or mature Christians at your church for counselling. If your issue concerns improper handling of private properties (e.g. theft, illegal occupation), I would suggest you report to the police. I don't know how hard it would be for you (in the U.S.) to make him leave your home. Is he under protection by any rental law? It seems that you are only an unmarried couple living together. If I were you, I would just pack his stuff and leave them outside my house, call him and give him a deadline to pick it up, and immediately change all the door-locks and install intruder-alarm as well. Go, talk to your pastor or report to the police if needed. Azure |

145 | what does matthew 6:10 mean | Matt 6:10 | azurelaw | 235578
Dear braiden, Welcome to the forum and thank you for the question. As you know, it is a part of Jesus' teaching to His disciples on how to pray. We call it "the Lord's Prayer". Let me try to share my thought with you. If you read it again and again, you will get the idea that it is very much God-centred in all aspects (His kingdom, His will, His sovereignty, His protection, His provision). As believer, we have to always bear in mind God's kingdom and will though we live our lives in this physical world which is so much rotten. V10 draws our plea for Jesus's second coming on one hand, and on the other, during this "waiting period" (in the situation that God's kingdom has come but yet to be completed in Jesus's second coming), we set our hope on God to exercise and effectuate His will. As a citizen of God's kingdom, we of course acknowledge His sovereignty, we should be zealous about God's will to be accomplished and be obedient and feel honour to be part of His tool in it for we TRUST, BELIEVE AND KNOW God's Will is for His glory and the good of His People. That is why we are taught to pray like that. (note also V13b) Hope my wordings are not so cumbersome for you to understand :-) By the way, I love this prayer very much. I join a liturgical church where we recite this beautiful prayer every Sunday and I enjoy praying it for it really guides me to focus my thought on God and convicts myself of failing to bear in mind the hallowed name of God in my daily live. Shalom Azure |

150 | god trusted me with children, i failed | Ps 1:1 | azurelaw | 234770
Dear Lopez, Everyone of us has done a lot of foolish things that could result with tragic consequences. But our God is full of compassion and slow to anger (Exo 34:6-7). Stop blaming yourself but turn your eyes upon Jesus. Pray for the amazing work of the Holy Spirit to help you walk in the right path that you can be the light and salt in the world, and your children may notice the new regenerated life in you that they may see God's glory. Never cease praying for your children as well. Remember, God loves our children much much more that we do. Shalom Azure |

Dear Preston, There always students come to the forum inquiring for answer for their homework questions instead of first working it out by themselves. Such conduct is not encouraged. If you have not noticed, please familiarize yourself with the TOU which also indicates the host's rule in concern with this kind of behaviour as below:- --- The Forum is not intended to provide or be a source for answering test or homework questions of those that are students. Questions asked should be from a true desire to learn and not as an easy substitute for the learning process. By the way, as I have read Doc's post in respond to Noah80's question, I see nothing in his wordings or tone that is hostile to the poster. I really cannot understand why you have such an accusation on Doc. While you mention "Some....have a very difficult time...", may I know who else do you mean? Shalom Azure |

Dear Trae, I don't know what does "UMC" stand for. Anyway, when choosing a church to attend or participate, a believer should consider the following:- 1) Is their teaching doctrinally sound and bible-based? This criteria means that as believers, we cannot be lazy. We have to diligently study the Bible like the Bereans (Acts 17:11)in order that we won't be misled by false teaching (Ephesians 4:14). 2) Is the church truly practising godly love and brotherly love toward one another without sacrificing the Truth? (John 13:34-35) 3) Is Communion practised properly? There should be some more, but these are what I have come up with for the time being. Shalom Azure |
