Hi! True, there are Scripture passages that speak on dreams and visions... yet these dreams and visions are given by God and only through the Holy Spirit can they obtain clarity. The advise given by Doc and Searcher are on the money... you must seek the Lord in the Bible and ask for counsel from your local Church (depending on your age you should bring an adult with you, Mom preferably). Be assured that you are not the only person having such dream/visions... what I have learned is that God calls us in a myriad of ways to serve Him within our Gifts... but we must get to know the Lord on a one-to-one basis... just as any other skill, our spirituality must be harnessed: study the Word on a daily basis; pray constantly and seek to please the Lord in all that you do. "just before i went back their was some big screen tv's i never noticed them before that said thats it u may not go back what is done is done" I want to address this particular portion of your dream: In Isaiah 1:18-20 Yahweh calls us to unite with Him, to turn back (repent) from our unrighteousness and obey and serve Him... In Ezekiel 18:30-32 Yahweh makes it profoundly clear that He cherishes us and that He wants not our death but our Salvation... John 3:16-17 tells us that God sent Jesus to the world not to condemn the world but that, through Faith in Jesus, we may have eternal life in God! Satan will use any sort of deception to entrap us… he is very fond of twisting the truth in order to separate us from God. Jesus called him the father of lies… so do not listen to anyone or anything that tells you that God does not want you! Our Father is a merciful and Loving God who more than just meets us half way: and a hope which will not let us down, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit which has been given to us. When we were still helpless, at the appointed time, Christ died for the godless. You could hardly find anyone ready to die even for someone upright; thought it is just possible that, for a really good person, someone might undertake to die. So it is proof of God’s own love for us, that Christ died for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:5-8) Jesus tells us that there is great joy in heaven when just one sinner repents and comes back to God! (Luke 15:7) So, be glad and do not worry; get closer to God and He will come closer to you! (James 4:7-10) God Bless! Angel |

122 | faith | Bible general Archive 2 | JCrichton | 128594
Hi, mikec! I do not believe you are as confused as you think you are: a) You know that you need to get closer to God! b) You know you have to establish a direct line to Him through prayer! c) You know that the Bible is: all or none! d) You are seeking assistance in getting closer to God! James tells us (James 1:5) that we can ask God for wisdom and He will readily give it to us; he also tells us how we are to come to God: James 1:6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. We are to place our trust (Faith) in Jesus without seeking to understand all that is God... remember, he exalts the humble and He humbles the proud! Come to Jesus in simple prayer (it could be as simple as repeating Jesus' name over and over in humble worship or it could be through a few words expressing your gratitude, your fears, and your aspirations or it could be by using a prayer template--none should be of those with special formulas to bring you wealth or control over the Holy Spirit or some personal angel--that brings deeper understanding of your relationship to God); learn to trust Him and He will do the rest! God Bless! Angel |

123 | How does God feel on smoking? | Bible general Archive 2 | JCrichton | 128883
Hi, DarcyKosha34! It would be wonderful if all of life's questions would be answered in the Bible in the exact language that we wish to ask of God... But part of our dependence on God is that we have finite knowledge and finite understanding... so we must come to Scripture in a prayerful manner asking the Holy Spirit to enlighten our minds and spirits... Though there's no mention of certain things in the Bible, we must not jump to the conclusion that "it is not Biblical therefore we can opt to ignore or indulge in whatever we please... One of the Commandments is "do not kill!" If we look at the tobacco industry, we find that it has been killing people for decades and that, for decades, it circumvented any efforts to expose the truth about cigarettes harmful effects to human life from both active and passive smoke exposure. Once medical and technological advancement prolonged human lifespan, the devastation of cigarettes smoking (both in human terms and medical cost) broke through the barriers of lies and deceit... but since we are capitalists, the industry was not disbanded, rather they were allowed to post a disclaimer on their packages to warn the millions that are addicted to their poison that their product produces harmful health effects! What would be the difference between a Christian who willfully jumps from the Empire State Building in order to take his/her life in a short explosive instant and a Christian that poisons his/herself in a slow and methodical manner? None! Since the persons from both examples are breaking the Commandment not to kill! And not only that, but they run the risk of killing/hurting others by their actions! There is one Scripture that I truly want to share with you and all "smoking" Christians: 1 Corinthians 3:17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple. God Bless! Angel |

124 | doctrinal differences | Bible general Archive 2 | JCrichton | 128886
Hi, geof! I think that the best thing you can do is to do individual research on the various doctrines that you seek to study... since by nature we are biased, in forums that are multi-congregational (Christian) we would mostlikely find biased replies... I am currently conducting correspondence with an Eastern Orthodox Catholic in order to get a better understanding of the Eastern Church... perhaps searching out people in the diverse congregations that you seek to understand could better aide you in determining their specific rites and theologies. God Bless! Angel |

125 | Rape in marriage and what to do | Bible general Archive 2 | JCrichton | 129027
Hi, acting! Your situation, as that of many, is a very difficult one... the Bible does not have ad verbum replies to our queries... nontheless Scripture, as God, is transcendent... as I read your post this particular Scripture came to mind: Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave his life for it. (Ephisians 5:25) This clearly demands that a Christian love his wife to the point of giving his own life for her wellbeing. A husband/wife who assaults/oppresses (phisically or emotionally) his/her spouse is violating God's Command! Jesus tells us that the husband and wife become one flesh; this is not a reference to simple sexual intercourse! This union of two bodies into one means that both spouses are responsible for the other; that both spouses are dependent of each other; that both spouses must build a home together; that both spouses are to nourish each other in Christ Jesus... without mutual love and respect, there's no joining of two as one! Scripture does not speak on many subject, not because we are to accept everything that is not textually expressed in the Bible as extra-Biblical... rather, we must realize that both the Old Testament and the New Testament are not guidelines for unbelievers but for believers: for those whom Yahweh has called to be holy as He is Holy... so our behavior, our thoughts, our relationships must be established according to God's guidelines for God expects us to be different from the world! So Scripture is silent on spousal rape not because it is endorsed, but because it is not forseen as a behavior tolerated by those who are serving God! God Bless! Angel |

126 | passages in the bible that can help me. | Bible general Archive 2 | JCrichton | 129222
Hi, L Smith! There are no Scripture passages that are situational-specific... But we know that the Holy Spirit enlightens us in matters of Scripture and Faith... I suggest to you to take your Bible and share Scripture with your father (once I was asked to pray for an elderly lady who was in a coma--I read Scripture to her and prayed that the Holy Spirit made Himself known to her and convict her of her Salvation in Christ Jesus... though she did not regain her health, she came out of the coma for a few minutes and later died... she happened to open her eyes during my prayer that He, the Holy Spirit, would touch her heart, mind and spirit and guide her to Christ!); before you make any decision, please share Scripture with your dad... it could be the greatest gesture of love that you could bestow upon him! Remember that Christ Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit will guide us to the fulness of Truth! God Bless! Angel |

129 | Take a breath | Bible general Archive 2 | JCrichton | 129892
Hi, lake! While doing my personal Bible study I always use my personal Bible, but I use the Douay-Rheims and various other versions (both at hand and on the Bible Gateway) to post here and on other forums, emails, etc... one of the versions presented at the BG is the NIV which is translated by the International Bible Society: ie: 1 Corinthians 15:29 :: New International Version (NIV) 1 Corinthians 15 29Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them? Copyright 1973, 1978, 1984 by International Bible Society All rights reserved worldwide When you say: "New Age Antichrist could change content and thus Lead believers down a doomed path." ...are you stating the the IBS is an anti-Christ? I must confess, I am not familiar with the change you have cited... I just use the various on-line Bibles as quick reference or easy copy-paste operations... I do, however, like to hear more about these "changes" or omissions as you have discovered--I thank you, in advance, to keep your posts clear of inflammatory language. I wellcome all Christian exchange on Jesus and Scripture as long as they are edifying... we must keep in mind that there might be both seasoned Christians as well as novices and non-believers frequenting Christian forums and how we represent Christ is, at times, more important than the message we aim to convey! Looking forward to your further comments on the NIV translation, as well as any other translation which you may have studied! God Bless! Angel |

130 | homosexuality | Bible general Archive 2 | JCrichton | 130501
Hi, Mikec! It is not just homosexuals who are going to hell: He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life. (Revelation 21:5-8, 27) Decidedly, these people in the above passages will not enter the Kingdom of God! But it is not for lack of Bibles or Evangelization or Bible Study… they have made their choice with their “lifestyles”: The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was given power to scorch people with fire. They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him. The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was plunged into darkness. Men gnawed their tongues in agony and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done. (Revelation 16:8-11) If we choose to be rebellious to God’s Word and obstinately choose death instead of life (Deuteronomy 30:19-20), we reap that which we sow (Romans 6:23). Jesus never condemned any sinner that came before Him, but He did exact a wage: “go and sin no more!” (John 8:1-11). God Bless! Angel |

133 | Studying beyond reading | Bible general Archive 2 | JCrichton | 131984
Hi, Jo! I did not mean to exclude you from this forum... I simply offered info on a forum that is for and by young Christians... I am glad that you found a group to study with... I welcome all Bible related questions or comments that deal with Christ (some people want to argue philosophy and religion, I stay away from arguments that are unproductive to my relationship with Christ). "How do I study deeply? How do I get past simply reading the Bible." I suggest that you start with the Gospel of John... do not try to read through the text (chapt 1 - 21)... take as much time as you need to study each individual chapter/theme (i.e.: John 1:1-14), using a Bible with a built-in concordance or a Bible concordance to compare Scripture from various sources... Start and end each study session with a prayer asking the Holy Spirit for guidance and thanking God for any enlightenment gained from each session. Use your study group to bounce your personal Bible studies (offer your questions, comments, challanges...)... Bounce your conclusions/queries on this or other Bible forums... Avail yourself of local sources such as your local Church, Bible ministry, parents, siblings, grandparents... always challange your knowledge of Christ by opening dialoges with those that God will send to you! Most importantly, be a doer of the Word! It is a good thing to discover the mysteries of God; it is a better thing to put them into practice in our daily lives! God Bless! Angel |

Hi, GeneZ! I understand what you are saying... I was simply offering Jo (Winged1) an alternative... many times I travel around the net and I find it faster to query an automated source than to await for a reply... I can see the benefit you expressed since I have read through some of the exchanges dealing with vocabulary and usage... God Bless! Angel |

136 | Brother and sister | Bible general Archive 2 | JCrichton | 132658
Hi, LIVERIGHT! In the beginning God created man and woman... there was no otherway, other than the manipulation of nature, to populate the earth... Have you noticed how many years a person lived during the post-creation period? Some lived past 500 years... could you imagine our proliferation multiplied into the hundreds of years? Everything that God Created He saw that it was good--to me this is just another way of saying that He created everything in perfection, according to His Divine Plan! As the world was populated the laws of nature and God's Law surfaced respectively! So, had you been Adams' direct descendant you could have married your brother or nephew--no problem! But you are Adams' far removed descendant and both the laws of nature and God's Law applies to you (inclusive of all humanity). God Bless! Angel |

137 | should i be part of a ministry? | Bible general Archive 2 | JCrichton | 133264
Hi, 4 Christ! Are you asking if you must serve the Lord as a member of His Church? If that is your question... remember that it was Jesus who instituted the Church and that the Church is Christ's Body! Scripture speaks about that special relationship between Christ and the Church... how He is perfecting the Church (through the Holy Spirit) to make her the perfect bride! Sadly, due to so many egocentric love affairs Christians are rejecting Christ's Church... choosing instead some lone-ranger approach to God; that will never do! The Holy Spirit did not come to reveal the Truth and to distribute His Gifts so that we can burst the piñata, grab what we want, and run home with the goodies! (1 Corinthians 12:1-31) Offer yourself to Christ... humbly allow the Holy Spirit to use your talents to edify Christ's Church! God Bless! Angel |

139 | Photo of King David | Bible general Archive 2 | JCrichton | 133333
Hi, BWH! The invention of photography did not occur till the early seventy hundreds: The Invention of Photography The necessary first breakthrough in photography was in a different, not eye-centered area--that of making permanent photographic images. Employing data from the researches of Johann Heinrich Schulze--who, in 1727, discovered that silver nitrate darkened upon exposure to light--Thomas Wedgwood and Sir Humphry Davy, early in the 19th cent., created what we now call photograms. These were made by placing assorted objects on paper soaked in silver nitrate and exposing them to sunlight. Those areas of the paper covered by the objects remained white; the rest blackened after exposure to the light. Davy and Wedgwood found no way of arresting the chemical action at this stage, however, and their images lasted only a short time before darkening entirely... (...for the complete article visit: www.bartleby.com, under Columbia Encyclopedia.) Any artistic rendering of Biblical scenes and personalities have not been conceived through the science/art of photography. God Bless! Angel |
