121 | Church is kidnapped to Sodom! | James 2:8 | mbooker | 58573
Good Morning All!! I have been reading through this thread. And after reading John's post, I asked myself 'Do we have examples in scripture where someone in leadership was removed then restored back to that position?' Then Saul and David came to mind. Saul was rejected from being king because of rebellion (I Sam 15:1-29) and was not restored. But then David, who lay with Uriah's wife, was never removed from being king. Just wanted to share my thoughts... :) Abba Father bless... |

Good Afternoon Brother John! I am still not quite sure at what point a leader should be removed, especially given the scenario you gave in your post (What if he falls again, is the process then repeated). I am trying to study the passage Kalos posted earlier (I Cor 5). Your statement “Even if the fallen Pastor repents, Why should'nt he be removed from his leadership position?” is what made me think of David. And as Kalos pointed out, David repented. Now I’m not saying that this particular pastor should remain if he has repented. I was just posting my thought process and not attempting to answer your question. Abba Father bless… Meredith |

123 | 508, Are you a DQed overseer? | James 2:8 | mbooker | 58650
Good morning Jesusfreak Boy! This is quite an interesting topic. And I will admit it... I too tend to lean more toward mercy and compassion (not that the others are unkind or unloving). Maybe because I'm a woman!! LOL Micah 6:8 says He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? This is a scripture that I meditate on and the 'love mercy' has really impacted me. A few of my friends do have the opinion that I am too 'soft'. :) And with a topic like this and with all the scriptures that have been posted, I seek to rightly divide the Word of Truth. In a conversation with a brother yesterday, Gal 6:1 was brought up then I wondered when do you 'deliver such an one unto Satan for destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus' and when do 'those that are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekenss; considering thyself, lest thous also be tempted'. Jesus is called the Lamb of God (John 1:29,36) and He's called the Lion of Judah (Rev 5:5) A lamb and a lion! Talk about a contrast! LOL Since He is our perfect example, I want to learn when to be a lamb (deal gently) and when to be a lion (arrhhhh! deal sharply) LOL! Forever learning, forever growing... May you be abundantly blessed today... :) Abba Father bless... Meredith |

Good Morning Brother Tim! I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate your posts. I have seen instances where you have disagreed with a poster, but the way you do it... it(your post) just over flows with gentleness that it takes me a moment to realize you are disagreeing!! :) 2 Tim 2:23-24 seems to describe you... And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; Thank you for providing a good example for me! 126 | The Power of Prayer and a Prodigal Child | 1 John 5:15 | mbooker | 96571
I am so glad I decided to venture here today!! Brother Tim, you have me in tears. What wonderful news! I rejoice with you! I was listening to Fred Hammond this morning and in his song he quoted Zechariah 4:6 'Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit'. When I hear this song, I think of my father, who is also on drugs, and I think 'Not by might or power, but by His Spirit will my father be delivered.' the seed of the righteous shall be delivered. Prov 11:21 The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16 Romans 5:1-5 was given to me when I shared with a brother that I was afraid to hope to much the first time my father went to a Christian rehad center. v5 was especially edifying: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. My prayer for you is that you continue hope in His mercy (Ps 33:18) Psalm 31:24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD. Psalm 33:18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; Psalm 33:22 Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee. Psalm 38:15 For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God. Psalm 39:7 And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee. Psalm 42:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. Psalm 42:11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. Psalm 43:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. Psalm 71:5 For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth. Psalm 71:14 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more. Psalm 119:49 Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope. Psalm 119:81 My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word. Psalm 119:114 Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word. Psalm 119:147 I prevented the dawning of the morning, and cried: I hoped in thy word. Psalm 130:5 I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. GeeVee I believe I have the same understanding as you do and will continue to follow this thread. I too am curious to know if there are scriptures that denounce God's obedient servants/sons (we are no longer servants but sons (gal 4:7) ) from prospering(increasing) in any area of life. |

Sure... :) As long as the dialouge does not turn into a debate. I'm not interested in proving to anyone that I am right and/or they are wrong. It is my desire to be pointed to scriptures concerning a particular subject. Then taking thoses scriptures and reading them and allowing the Spirit of truth to guide me into all truth. Abba Father bless... :) |

oh... :( I too love truth and hate falsehood. But alas, I'm not a debater. I'm just no good when sparks start flying(maybe because I'm a woman lol). On my part, things can get way off course and the issue can get lost. I don't doubt the rightness of your heart and may you be blessed always. I guess we have to part company on this one. But I will be around, and every now and then I'll peek in on debates that may be occuring :) Abba Father bless... |
