101 | jcsav, Meaning of Jesus silenced them? | John 3:5 | jcsav | 147288
I didn't think you would. But, it is there. Romans 6:3-5, "Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from tlhe dead by lthe glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. Now, tell me what is more important than that? Read the topic that Searcher started. What do it say? What do the Scripture above say? |

102 | jcsav, Meaning of Jesus silenced them? | John 3:5 | jcsav | 147366
Steve, Mal 3:3 is the at least One of the Scriptures that can be used. To try to explain it to you would be exhausting. Study the Jewish "Mikvah" or see if you can find a "Jewish rabbi" ask him how this apply to the word "purifier", "purify" and "Purge" as it is used in Mal 3:3. You would also, except it better coming from him.

106 | jcsav, where does Peter show fear? | John 13:37 | jcsav | 143418
You are mistaken. Give me the ID# in which I mentioned fear as Mat 8:23-27, Mark 4:37-41. Someone else brought up these Scriptures in reponse to my Rev. 21:8's use of the word. I only tried to show the difference in how the meaning of "fear" changes in differnt Text even though the meaning of the word itself remain the same. If you want to be right that badly. ok. This is going down the same line as, When you said, the Scripture says Jesus baptized (water).
107 | jcsav, where does Peter show fear? | John 13:37 | jcsav | 143463
As also in all epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstale wrest as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction. 2Peter 3:16 KJV
108 | jcsav, where does Peter show fear? | John 13:37 | jcsav | 143475
My apology, now I understand When I told Lionheart, "I agree with you on your study." I was speaking of this understanding of how a word differs in usage of text. I have said the exact same thing to you. I did not mean that he had the right understanding on how the word Fear-Deilos was used in the text Mat 8:26 and MK 4:40. So, instead of correcting him. I just used his lack of understanding of these text to prove a point. My lack of correcting him lead you to believe I agreed with him. I did however, explain the difference in the texts to you. As for post 143215. When Peter said he did not know Christ. Even though you do not find the Word deilos. The meaning of the Text is the same. Peter action showed him to be afraid-deilos as it is applyed in Rev. not Mt and Mk.where they had faith though it was little. And when I say, Lord forgave him. Let me put it another way. Are you saying Jesus did not. |

109 | jcsav, where does Peter show fear? | John 13:37 | jcsav | 143479
After reading through the posts. You could have been agreeing with me. And not disagreeing, about Jesus not baptizing with water. I seem to have been, too defensive. My apology, once again.

111 | Filled with the holy spirit? | John 14:16 | jcsav | 138152
Greetings, Without the Holy Spirit you can not see the Kingdom of God. This is the new birth or born again. The evidence of one having received the Holy Spirit can be found in Acts 2:4, 10:46 and 19:6. It have not changed. It is the same today. This should not be confused with the "gift of tongues" that Paul address in 1Cor. |

112 | Is being filled the same as receiving? | John 14:16 | jcsav | 138199
Searcher56, The answer to your question is, Yes. Being filled with the Holy Spirit, receiving the Holy Spirit and being Baptized with the Holy Spirit is the same. However, being full of the Holy Spirit is different. Filled, as used in Acts can mean "FULL" or it can mean "FILL".
113 | Filled with the holy spirit? | John 14:16 | jcsav | 138201
Searcher, If you do what Acts 2:38 tells you. Then you would have no questions about what will happen when you receive the Holy Spirit. Even though Peter do not say or Luke did not record it. And you will know longer use the statement "what I believe". You will simply state, what is True.
114 | Filled with the holy spirit? | John 14:16 | jcsav | 138215
Greetings You don't believe that those in the upper room felt anything when they received the Holy Spirit? And if they didn't fill anything, why did they accuse them of being drunk? |
||||||
115 | Filled with the holy spirit? | John 14:16 | jcsav | 138237
I agree. Feeling was not the issue at Pentecost. However, MY focus was on "feeling" because of the statement made.My main focus have always be on that they received the promise of the Holy Ghost and spoke in other tongues. Thank You!
116 | Filled with the holy spirit? | John 14:16 | jcsav | 138238
The requirement for receiving the Holy Spirit can be found in Acts 2:38. No one can receive the Holy Spirit without realizing it, therefore, you need no incouragement to reinforce that fact. The presence of God is unmistakable. You can not receive the Holy Spirit without the presence of God, because the Holy Spirit, is God.
117 | Is being filled the same as receiving? | John 14:16 | jcsav | 140251
This is just a play on words. Excample: Jesus Baptize. The one that receives is filled. Why would the words mean the same?
