Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, (Note; this is water baptism) and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.(Note; this is the Spirit baptism). Let me ask you is baptism of God or Man. If it is of God. Can you continually disobey God and be saved? If you get into advance study of the bible then you would know that "Believing on the Lord Jesus Christ" include obeying what he wants us to do. It is you responsiblity to judge for youself what that is.

163 | jcsav, Why isn't believing being saved? | Acts 16:31 | jcsav | 142745
There is believing and there is believing to the saving of ones soul. That is what Act 16:30-34 mean, believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. Rom 10:8-14 can be explain in verse 16."But they have not all obeyed the Gospel, For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believe our report? As you can see OBEYING the Gospel is linked to believing the Report. You can not say you believe and disobey. (1 Cor l:21) it is preaching that save them that believe. Not believing itself. You still think God disagrees with me. The Scripture said that Simeon believed and was Baptized. Did that make him saved. No. Maybe he got it together later on.
164 | jcsav, Why isn't believing being saved? | Acts 16:31 | jcsav | 142837
I do not like to say what God can't do. I can not find anywhere in the New Testament where God saved anyone without one of His agents. God's Salvation is not a "on my own" Salvation.
165 | jcsav, Why isn't believing being saved? | Acts 16:31 | jcsav | 142838
Because one believe do not mean that they are saved. Maybe I am not wording it correctly. How about in Revelation where it says the Fearful will have their place with the unbelieving. It did not say that the Fearful was unbelieving. It also list other vices.
166 | jcsav, Why isn't believing being saved? | Acts 16:31 | jcsav | 142840
Seacher, I agree with you that a Preacher is still need. But if we are going to ignore Scripture because of the sign of the times. Then why bother? Tongues was in that day. Now is Preaching, also in that day?
167 | jcsav, State of those who never heard? | Acts 16:31 | jcsav | 142894
Romans 1:18-20 and Rom 2:14 may shed light on that. I do know, that God will judge rightously.
168 | jcsav, Why isn't believing being saved? | Acts 16:31 | jcsav | 142896
Adam was in the Old Testament. I did say, New Testament. Show me one in the New Testament. Jesus didn't give Paul all he need when he was speaking to him from Heaven. Did he? Did he come down from Heaven and Baptize Paul. No. And that is a part of Salvation.

Steve It will appear, that is one reason he allowed Timothy to be circumcised. It had to do with culture and not the "Law". |

172 | Scripture supporting Sprinkling/Immersio | Rom 6:1 | jcsav | 146065
I do not agree that it is overused. No Scripture is overused if it is used in "Truth." It is for the correction of those who are in error. You know, as well as I, that it is clear and to the point.
173 | Scripture supporting Sprinkling/Immersio | Rom 6:1 | jcsav | 146066
Acts 10:47 "Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? Note: Peter COMMANDED (seeing that they had already, received the Holy Ghost) that they be baptised. He did not ask them if they wanted to. How can you say, that "water" have nothing to do with being baptised with the Holy Ghost? Also read 1John 3:5. This is the One baptism. You can not separate them. |

175 | Scriptures did not say | Rom 8:13 | jcsav | 121188
Daboniel, Greetings. You stated that ,"....three times when people recieved the Spirit they spoke in tongues, two times they did not. My question is , how did you come to the conclusion that two times they did not, when the Scriptures do not say?
176 | Scriptures did not say | Rom 8:13 | jcsav | 121215
And did I say that they did? Did Daboniel respect the silence of the Scriptures and not speculate? Then, why are your statements directed at me? Is it because of the Name that we bear (Jesus). Why should I have to prove they did speak when we all know that ALL the one in the upper room did, including All the Apostles. The Scriptures do say that.
177 | Scriptures did not say | Rom 8:13 | jcsav | 121242
If this was a ball game, then the score would be ten to two. And the ten would win. But, this is not a game. It is the Word of God. And I repeat, the Scriptures do not say that they did not speak. It is silent on the subject. That is not to say, they did NOT speak. And at times those that stood by either "heard" or "saw" when the Holy Ghost was given. How can one hear or see without a "sign"?
178 | filled with holy spirit? | Rom 8:13 | jcsav | 121245
Searcher, I am not speaking of the Gift of Tongues. I am speaking of the initial filling of the Holy Ghost. That is not a feeling. No more than it was in the upper room. The reason some do not want to except this, is they want to find another way in. Well, there is none. You must come by Jesus Christ.
179 | filled with holy spirit? | Rom 8:13 | jcsav | 121286
You do not know the difference in the Promised Gift of the Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit as it moved in the Old Testment? Why do you think that the ampified Acts 2:16 states: "But (instead) this is (the beginning of) what was spoken through the prophet Joel:" If as you say the initial filling of the Holy Spirit was in Exodus 31:3, some thousands of years before. Then how can it be the beginning in Acts 2:16.
180 | Scriptures did not say | Rom 8:13 | jcsav | 121294
How do admitting I'll wrong make me more convincing in a discussion of my position? If I said that I was wrong, then I would be a liar and a false witness. I can not honour man and God.
