103 | The world tommrow....today | Bible general | EdB | 242580
Part two is now available for viewing. While I totally agree with the message I believe there's is a problem within the church. The leadership of the true church of Jesus Christ will not stand up draw a line in the sand and be unwavering in their stand. Today the world looks at the church and sees a series of mixed messages. Example some call homosexuality a sin, some call it a life style, some call it a private matter, some welcome it into their church, some call it not a sin, some perform same sex marriages, some ordain open homosexuals, some promote homosexuals to leadership positions. Another example abortion. Some call it a sin, some called allowable, some call it essential in the case of rape and incest, some leadership in church has had an abortion, some hide abortion, some support the process of abortion. The world is looking for answers, looking for absolutes and what they are seeing in the church is the same confusion they see in the world. It is time for the authentic Church of Jesus Christ to stand up and call false prophets, false churches and false denominations - False! But to do this requires credibility and sadly no one seems willing to step up and be that person. |

105 | is eating on graves a sin ? | Bible general | EdB | 242641
As a child I was taught that as a sign of respect to never walk, or get on an actual grave. To this day I go out of my way to avoid showing disrespect to a grave by getting on it. As a pastor and having done many funerals I am amazed at how many people have never had similar training and walk all over graves. If you want to lunch near a grave of someone I see no problem with that, but I think to show respect to that person and all others buried there you should be careful not to do so on an actual grave. |

106 | why do you think there is 24 hours | Bible general | EdB | 242651
Where does it state that eternity is endless series of 24 hour periods? Since the radiance of God proves the light and it is never dark what controls a 24 hour period? |

107 | APOLOSTIC BIBLE POLYGLOT ? | Bible general | EdB | 242746
Do a google search. Wikipedia offers a good explaination. Also you will get a few sites that have a copy of the Bible online. I read John 1:1-3. And it basically describes Jesus as the Son of God and eternal. So I'm not sure why this man questions that fact. The Bible is basically a interlinear of the Septuagint and a transliteration of the Greek New Testament. In my opinion stated with great caution I would say this Bible would be dangerous in the hands of a untrained linguist. If you catch my drift. |

109 | PLZ ANSWER IM YOUNG AND HAVE TO KNOW!!!! | Bible general | EdB | 242762
The righteous in Christ upon death do go into the presenceof the Lord. 2 Cor 5:6-8. If we are in Christ we are not judged, as our sins have been paid by the death of Christ. The final place of the unrighteousness dead is the Lake of Fire which is often incorrectly identified as Hell. Hell today is holding place of the unrighteousness dead. On Judgement day they will arise to stand before the Great White Throne Of Judgement. If their name is not written into the Book of Life they will be cast into the Lake of Fire. Rev 20:11-15. |

Perhaps you are getting a lesson in patience. :-) I have experienced people that frazzled me, but I managed to keep my patience and abide my time. Then suddenly God opens a door they can not shut and fantastic things happen. Don't beat a dead horse just remain available to him and let God be God. |

2 Cor 5:6-8 clearly states that when we who are in Christ are absent from our bodies, dead, we are present with the Lord who is in heaven. Abraham's bosom the resting place for the righteous dead is empty. Jesus lead them to heaven. Eph 4:8. 8 Therefore He says: "When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men. Jesus lead captivity ( those held by death) captive (Jesus bought us with His blood) to heaven, where he gave us the freedom from death. |

Jesus took them to heaven. So any that He raised before his death and resurrection were still in Hades, the holding place of the dead. Read about it Luke 16:19-31. And then read Eph 4:8 Jesus lead captivity to heaven. Paul confirms to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. 2 Cor. 5:8. The righteous the Lord returns for are those that have not died. |

118 | Books of Wisdom | Bible general | EdB | 242843
JohnC your question is a little hard to answer as stated. There is a book called the Book of Wisdom Or The Wisdom of Solomon. And there are books that are grouped as books of Wisdom in the Bible being the Books Of Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song or Songs (Song of Solomon). Then there is a set of books commonly called the Apocrypha. These are books included in Septuagint but viewed as non inspired books. There is also a set of books called the Deuterocanonical books which include many of the books of the Apocrypha and add a few that are held to by the Catholic and Russian Orthodox church. The problem with the Book of Wisdom Or Wisdom of Solomon is one of authorship. It suggests it was written by David's son Solomon but is thought to have been written much later than he lived. Discussions on Apocryphal and Deuterocanonical books has occurred many times on this forum so do a search for those two keywords to get more info. Most books that did not make the canon for the Bible were books that did not exist when the canon was formed, had questionable authorship, were not included in the Old Testament, or had known contradictions of teaching. There are many books now on the market that claim to be this book or that book but many appear to be fakes written long after the time they claim, written by unknown men, or deny the deity of God. I hope this helps. If you are talking about one book or one particular group of books identify the book or particular group and we can discuss this further. |

Glad to have helped. You can get and read an apocrypha. Very interesting reading. Great teaching on worship. Also using the search box on the right type in apocrypha. I just did this and got enough reading for an evening. |

Doc sorry it took so long to get back to you but the alligators were out in full force. I like the Song of the Three Children and the Prayer of Manasses. But praise and Worship of God is spread throughout out the Apocrypha as it is in the Deuterocannical canon and some Apocryphas which includes the wonderful Prayer of Azariah. In my opinion both canons should be mandatory reading of every Christian. But only after they have read through the Bible multiple times |
