Excellent testimony my friend. I am sure that the thousands of seeds that you have planted will mature and produce fruit one day. Keep the courage and perseverance to stand strong at all the world has to throw at you. In these last days the world needs more strong believers as you for this final harvest. prayon

Ed, I have just a one word reaction to the 2nd part of your answer - "AMEN"! I used to speed a lot until I had a Christian friend of mine pull me over and call me on the carpet about my speed and my bumper sticker. I am sending you an email you might enjoy, don't know if I have sent it before or not. prayon |

109 | Knocked out by holy spirit | Matt 16:6 | prayon | 90523
Greetings, I disagree that being slain in the spirit is not scriptual and refer you to response ID # 5110. I also believe that it is unscriptual to judge how much faith a person has by whether he is healed or not. We are to build up not tear down a person. There can be any number of hinderences to his prayers being answered that have nothing to do with not having enough faith. Kenneth Hagin tells the story of how a man once came into the office of John G Lake's office and wanted to be healed from diabetes. The Lord told Dr. Lake that this man could not be healed because he owed someone some money from years ago. The man went to the mailbox and sent the money to the person he owed it to and by the time he returned to the office he was healed of the diabetes. Another example is of a pastor who was not hearing from God. The reason was that he was praying to Jesus instead of to the Father in Jesus name as the bible tells us to do. So you see, just because he is not healed does not mean that he lacks faith. prayon |

110 | Who was Ruth? | Ruth | prayon | 89246
Greetings Ed! Just getting around to answering some more emails - I had 189 when I got home. I certainly did not mean to sound as if I was spiritualizing Ruth. She was just a woman who God used. I agree with you, it is a story of God's rewarding faithfulness. prayon |

111 | Who is Peter writing to his 1st Epistle? | 1 Pet 1:1 | prayon | 89245
Greetings, I have looked at a few different references. All references agree that it was written between 64 AD and 68 AD. It is also agreed upon that it was written because of the believers facing increasing persecution. The purpose of the letter was to encourage and to teach them how to live victoriously in the midst of persecution. As a result of this persecution the believers scattered throughout the Roman empire. The MacArthur study bible says that these pilgrims were mostly Gentiles. Galatia was made up of mostly Greeks, Bithynia was a combination of Gauls and Greeks, and in Pontus Claudius had demanded in 50 AD that all Jews leave the city. However there must of been Jews involved because Peter was an apostle to the Jews as Paul was an apostle to the Gentiles. 1:18-19 is referring to Christ's death and how we were not redeemed by gold or silver but by the blood of Christ. They did put their trust in gold and silver but Peter is reminding them that it was not physical things that redeemed us. Their fathers did not know Jesus and were caught up in all the things that Jesus confronted the Pharisees with - they thought riches could buy anything - what a deceived generation! Hope this clears it up a little. prayon |

118 | Searching for the truth | Eph 6:12 | prayon | 75697
The power I am referring to is the power that Jesus said would come upon you when you receive the Holy Spirit, (see Acts 1:8). To use it effectively we must first know the word and what it says, which leads to faith. When we speak something and have faith as small as a mustard seed what we say will come to pass. With this faith we are to call down the works of Satan. Does this help any? prayon
