1 | Please accept my apology. | Not Specified | Radioman | 8172
EdB: I am reposting this in case you didn't see it when it was originally posted on Thu 06/21/01, 9:54pm. I was so wrong when I replied to you the way I did on the 21st. Every day that has gone by since then, I feel worse and am only confirmed in the conviction that I have wronged you. Please re-consider my apology. I mean it with all my heart. I have nothing against you, EdB, I honestly don't. My original apology follows: Thu 06/21/01, 9:54pm Please excuse my unintentionally late reply to your posting of 12:52pm. I only saw it a few minutes ago. Before I say anything else, let me say: I missed seeing and was completely unaware of your apology until just a few minutes ago. (I don't know how I overlooked your apology, but I did.) I regret and apologize for any and all harsh remarks that I posted to you between 12:52pm and the writing of this note (approx. 9:00pm). For such replies of mine to be posted after your apology only compounds my offense. I gladly choose to forget our heated exchange and put it in the past. I freely, joyfully, sincerely accept your apology. I must apologize to you for my overreaction to your comment. Will you forgive me? I assure you I think none the worse of you. It is I who hope that you think none the worse of me. (But I fear that you do because a week has gone by and you have not replied to my apology. If you do think the worse of me, I couldn't blame you. I admit I was entirely out of line when I posted what I did on the 20th and 21st.) Now the sword that I forged is in my own heart. The fact that I offended you is not something I take lightly or casually. My past harsh words and feelings weigh heavily upon me. EdB, I would rather be your friend than not. Your servant, Radioman |

2 | Is there an age of accountability? | Bible general Archive 1 | Radioman | 1001
What do you think? Surely you jest! The short answer is: No! The long answer is: No!
3 | Is there an age of accountability? | Bible general Archive 1 | Radioman | 1002
P.S. . . . Joseph, thank you for your question. After all the sometimes heated, sometimes confused and confusing debate over election, Calvinism or whatever one wishes to call it, I needed a good laugh. Thanks for providing me with one. |

4 | When is a plumb line true? | Bible general Archive 1 | Radioman | 1003
How can a man be plumb lyin' and true at the same time? (It's a joke.) Seriously, yours is an excellent answer. Keep them coming. I commend you on your answer, with which I agree. Thanks for attempting to restore some balance and Christian charity to this endless debate. In Christ, Radioman
5 | What would be considered the age? | Bible general Archive 1 | Radioman | 1075
When someone accurately states that there is no mention of an "age of accountability" in Scripture, WHY then do you come back with "So there is no age where a person is considered responsible for their actions"? All that was said was that the term "age of accountability" does not appear in the Bible. No one said there is no age where a person is considered responsible for their actions.

P.S. The same logic would cause one to conclude that since the word "Trinity" does not appear in the Bible, then there is no such thing as the Trinity. The same thing could be said of television, radio, the Internet, etc.: well, since those words don't appear in the Bible, then those things don't exist. Whatever.
7 | Remember the rest of Christianity? | Bible general Archive 1 | Radioman | 1574
Some of the doctrines and dogmas put forth here are 1 percent or less Scripture and 99 percent human reasoning, and not always sound reasoning at that.

2 Proverbs 1:1 Be not drawn into dispute concerning neither the King James Only controversy, Eternal Security vs Eternal Insecurity, nor Calvinism vs Arminianism. 1:2 For it tendeth only to frustration. The major portion of thy brethren neither can nor will understand the issues. 1:3 Neither will they answer thee according to Scripture, reason or logic. But their answer proceedeth out of their own emotions and the imaginings of their hearts. 1:4 Take heed unto thyself lest thou assay to challenge their pet beliefs, 1:5 For in the day that thou challengeth therof, they shall turn on thee and rend thee to pieces; 1:6 Insomuch that, if it were possible, even the very elect should be utterly cut off from all rational thought; and that without remedy. 1:7 Cast not thy learning before them that despise learning of any kind. |

You want to know the truth and need to know, but banging you with doctrine won't help? Pray tell, what will help? If the answer to your question is not to be found in Bible doctrine, then where is it to be found? What would you like folks to be banging you with? Reader's Digest, Popular Mechanics, Southern Living, TV Guide, philosophy, New Age crystals, opinions off the top of people's heads with no supporting Scriptural reference? If you truly do not want Bible doctrine and a clear explanation from Scriptue, I can recommend about a dozen posters on this Forum who will be glad to oblige you. |

14 | Does God have free will? | Bible general Archive 1 | Radioman | 5540
Do you have a Scripture reference for your question? A lot of these questions under the category "The Entire Bible" are getting increasingly weirder, especially questions beginning with "Why" or "What if"? One could ask questions based on false syllogisms all day. But who would be edified? This is not a rap session; it is a StudyBibleForum. Where's the Bible verse you are asking about?
15 | Does God have free will? | Bible general Archive 1 | Radioman | 5541
"Actually the question is not absurd at all." Yes, it is. Moreover, it is FOOLISH, balmy, crazy, harebrained, insane, loony, preposterous, silly, and wacky. |

Forrest, you need not apologize. I'm the one who needs to apologize. Charis is right, "Fear not, Radioman's bark is worse than his bite :-)" Actually, I don't bite. I owe you an apology. I was wrong. Please accept my belated apology. I was reading too fast and honestly did not notice that what you were doing was making corrections to your copy and then reposting it, which is perfectly legitimate. According to the respondents to this Forum, there are at least half a dozen unforgivable sins. But neither a misspelling nor a typographical error constitutes unpardonable sin. If anything, you are to be commended for taking care to proofread and edit your submissions. Keep up the good work. Let no one say of you that you are "monitoring the questions in an inferior way." Again it was wrong of me to come down on you the way I did. -Radioman |

17 | Biblical support for animals in heaven? | Bible general Archive 1 | Radioman | 5898
No, it is not Biblically based. We cannot draw any such conclusion based upon Biblical evidence. Nor can one give a Bible reference to support the fact that it isn't in the Bible.
18 | Babies in heaven when they die? | Bible general Archive 1 | Radioman | 5900
1) "...so also are all other elect persons who are incapable of being outwardly called by the ministry of the Word." NASB Romans 10:13-14 for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED." How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? 2) The implication that non-elect babies go to hell to suffer eternal torment and torture is both cruel and absurd. 3) "Also, faithful members of the covenant have the right, based upon the promises of God, to expect that God will work in their children. Thus, Christians who lose a child may be comforted thus, but unbelievers may not." Surprise! Bulletin! Hello? God does not have any grandchildren, contrary to your doctrine. 4) "...it doesn't work unless you have Reformed soteriology." I don't believe I've ever had that. Is it something you can get by drinking from a public water fountain? |

19 | Why? | Bible general Archive 1 | Radioman | 6554
Retxar says: "If we use Calvin's example of proper teatment of those we disagree with, we could not only use harsh language, we could also burn them at the stake!" Responding directly to Retxar's previous allegation, Reformer Joe asks "Name me two people that Calvin burned at the stake." In a dazzling display of wit, Retxar replies: "Two people that Calvin burned at the stake? I give up, who were they?" I have a question of my own for Retxar: Why do you say, "I give up, who were they?" You, not Reformer Joe, YOU are the one who brought up the subject of Calvin burning people at the stake. So, when asked about it, why do you pretend that you never heard of it? Do you think you will convince anyone of anything through the use of senseless remarks and babbling? |

20 | One God; Calvin is his prophet? | Bible general Archive 1 | Radioman | 6565
Dear Dr. Sounding Brass and Professor Tinkling Cymbal: Though you understand all mysteries and all knowledge, if you have not love, you are nothing. You believe that there is one God and that Calvin is his prophet; you do well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But will you know, O vain man, that knowledge without love profits you nothing? |
