1 | What are your views of once saved always | Bible general Archive 1 | PastorFloyd | 90019
I believe that once we are saved we are always saved; Scriptures doesn not teach us that we are like those in the world. We know Jesus as our personal Savior: but we can get to the point where we are not walking with God and in doing so we do not receive the insights and the knowledge and wisdom that God so richly wants us to have. We can become so hardened by the world that we can become inured to the teachings of the Bible and our walk with God will be null and void. Thus, from what I have been able to glean from the Word, and I have been studying it for nearly 35 years, though we are saved and will continue to be saved throughout eternity, when we get to the Great White Throne of Judgement, what is Jesus going to tell us? Will He say "Well done, though great and mighty servant?" or will He just hang His Head and sigh. In being close to God, we receive great insights into His Work and what He wants us to do regarding His Work. We can get to the point where we are dead to God. Does God ever forget us? No, I believe He does not ever forget us, He is just disappointed in us. I have been on both sides of the issue and I like the walk with God where He is ever in my thoughts and I am close to Him. He talks to me daily and I can hold a conversation with Him as I do with my wife or my children. He leads me and guides me in my daily walk with Him. So, it is up to the individual, do you walk with God or do you grieve Him?

In the early part of the 1980's there was a young man named Tommy Slayton. This young man was ten years old and his father had just committed himself to trusting in God's Word, no matter what. That afternoon the Slayton's had visitors from their church and they were exchanging views on the Gospels and so forth. Tommy was upstairs in his room when he decided he wanted to take a bath. In the bathroom they had a small television which Tommie's dad kept in there to watch the church programs. Tommy decided to watch it while he was taking a bath and he inadvertantly placed it on the edge of the tub. He reached out to turn the channel and the television fell into the tub with him. In a millisecond he was electrocuted and knocked unconscious. He slipped under the water in the tub and water poured into his lungs drowning him. For 15 minutes the juice from the electricity poured into his body through an opening in the bottom of his foot and came out through an opening in the back of his head. After Tommy was brought back to life through faith in Jesus, by his dad, he was in a brain-dead coma for seven long months. Throughout all this time the Slayton's would not let the doctors remove the life-support system. Seven months to the day, Tommy awoke and recognized his dad. Big Tom asked his son if he knew where he was all that time. Tommy explained: "When the electricity hit his body and he slipped under the water, he was instantly picked up by his guardian angel and in an instant of time he was tucked under the angel's arm and they flew off and after a time, and he did not know how long a time it was, they were in heaven. He met people that his dad knew, neighbors that had died and relatives that had preceeded him. He met Jesus and was shown around heaven. Tommy said he did not know how long he spent in heaven as there is no time in heaven. After a time, Jesus said he had to go back, that his dad was calling for him. He was still under his dad's protection, and his dad was pulling him back and Tommy, even though he wanted desperately to stay in heaven with Jesus, had to go back. I believe that if your son knew Jesus, he is in heaven and he is waiting for you. Grieve for your son if you need to, because it is a loss to your family, but please understand that your son is in heaven with Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:8 states that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. |

3 | Where was satan when he first sinned? | Bible general Archive 1 | PastorFloyd | 90080
According to Isaiah 14:12 Satan did sin in heaven and was cast down by God for trying to exalt himself above the throne of God. Ezekiel 28:13-18 states that Satan was in the Garden of Eden. He was also in heaven and tried to lift himself above the throne of God. Luke 10:18 states: "Behold I saw Satan as lightning fall from heaven." |

A. The body shall return to the earth. But, you say that the spirit and soul go to hades at the point of death. Then what about the Scripture 2 Corinthians 5:8, that states: "that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Jesus is not in hell now. B. Jesus descended into hell when He was crucified and was there for three days. Right? After defeating Satan in the depths of hell and removing from him the keys to death, hell and the grave. Jesus ascended into Paradise and preached the message of Salvation to the captives. Setting the captives free. According to Psalms 24 He returned to heaven with the souls from Paradise, thus leaving Paradise empty. "Lift up your heads O ye gates, the King of Glory shall come in." Who is this king of Glory? The Lord, strong and mighty in battle, the Lord, mighty in battle." Scripture says hell has been enlarged. Now to my way of thinking, since the earth is only so big, and hell has been enlarged, then it only stands to reason that Satan has taken over the empty place of Paradise. |

In the early part of this century the Azusa street revival started up. There was a young reporter in Chicago that wrote an article about the attention the Azuse street revival was getting and he did not like all the attention that was focused on God and stated this: "I do not believe in God. If there is a God I do not believe that He is all-powerful, omniscent. etc. etc. He went on and on in his article and he ended it by saying this. 'If there is a God let Him strike me dead with lightening tomorrow at noon in the town square.' (or something to that effect). Everyone waited with apprehension for God to do something. Nothing happened. A week later an older reporter wrote a statement that went like this: "Two ants were crawling across the prairie and they came across a set of railroad tracks. They crawled upon one of the tracks and they could see that it went off in both directions as far as the eye could see. The younger ant demanded: "What is this thing that I am standing on?" The older ant said, "That is the rail to the Union Pacific railroad." "What is it doing here," the younger ant responded with anger. The older ant replied, "The President of the Union Pacific railroad ordered that it be put down here and that it should go across the United States from border to border." The younger ant responded indignantly: "I don't believe that there is a President of the Union Pacific railroad, and if there is I challenge him to come out here and step on me." Get my point? |

If I said that, I am sorry, young person. I meant that Jesus went to hell and got the keys to death, hell and the grave.

Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. As far as I know, and I am not a scholar, the heart of the earth is "hell." |

My friend, I grieve with you. If the way I say this doesn't sound compassionate, forgive me. But you say others have come to the Lord by what happened to Chris. I think that is a true miracle but I don't think that God caused your son's death to bring others into the kingdom. I don't believe God does that. I once heard a woman say that her child died so that God would have another flower in His Garden. If God wants flowers in His Garden He can create them, after all, He is still in the creation business. No I believe that what happened to Chris was an accident. Unfortunately that does not help us when we grieve for him. God Bless you my brother and I pray that God will help you to get over this. I have never lost a child and pray everyday that I do not have to go through what you and your wife are going through. I had a son go to prison for eight years and I could do nothing to stop it. He was a born-again believer at the time but he got caught up in drugs and would not listen to me. I went through pure hell mentally and almost gave up physically. My wife and I lived that nightmare for eight long years but he is at home now and I praise God for helping Him through some very tough times. Some say that grief helps us to become stronger in the Lord, but I don't believe that. I do know this, your son is awaiting you in heaven.

16 | Remember the Sabbath; when? | Gen 1:1 | PastorFloyd | 90273
What do you base your faith on? If God is not in everyone of our services also then what are we having services for. I once stated to a new Christian that I went to a certain church and it felt like God was absent from their services. He stated that when he goes to a new church, he takes God with him. Sounds like good advice. |

18 | What is Mark of Cain? Where in the Bilbe | Gen 4:15 | PastorFloyd | 90261
There is no scripture that states exactly what the mark of Cain really is. Some theologians say that the Mark of Cain is the ethnic group of Negroes, but there is nothing to back that up and I personally do not believe it, nor do any other Pastors that i have talked to. Cain was the originator of the Caananites. They believed in the Asherah poles, the sexual perversion that we find in the scripture where the Israelites commited sexual sin and 7,000 of them died. Other references in the Old Testament refer to them also. But there is no reference as to the exact mark that God placed on them. If you will remember Noah placed a mark on his grandson because his son saw him drunk and naked in his tent, which was an abomination in those days. He said that Cain would be a slave to his brothers. Check throughout history and you will see that the descendants of Cain were in fact slaves. Maybe that is what God had in mind. |

20 | First we must walk before God | Gen 17:1 | PastorFloyd | 90030
What are we going to say when we confront God on the day of Judgement? What is He going to say to us? Is He going to say good man or is He just going to look at us in grief? If we don't walk with God everyday of our lives; if we don't spend time with Him, and I don't mean a simple prayer; if we don't fellowship with him everday what kind of relationship will we have with Him. God created man to be a companion for Him. To be a friend that He could talk to. So many people ignore Him or do not follow up their relationship with Him and that grieves Him. He is God! But He is also one of the best friends that you could ever have. |
