Bible Question:
Hi, WHAT WILL GO TO HELL FOR PUNISHMENT? Many thanks to many of you who have responded to my post in connection with the above heading. From the various comments received recently,it is gathered that the following sequence of events will take place after death. 1.A human has 3 spiritual parts: Body- soul- spirit 2.After death: a. The body will return to earth. b. The soul and spirit will proceed to Hades. 3.Hades is divided into two sections, one (paradise/ Abraham bossom)for the believers and the other(hell) for wicked guys. 4.Whilst in hades, they await the great judgement day. 5.On judgement day, a new body is given to house the soul and spirit. 6.After judgement has been announced, the good believers ascend to heaven to be with Lord Jesus and forever happy. But the wicked guys will descend to the lake of fire and forever in torment. 7. The Lake of Fire is at this point in time empty until judgement day. Is this sequence in order? Your comments, please. Bible Answer: A. The body shall return to the earth. But, you say that the spirit and soul go to hades at the point of death. Then what about the Scripture 2 Corinthians 5:8, that states: "that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Jesus is not in hell now. B. Jesus descended into hell when He was crucified and was there for three days. Right? After defeating Satan in the depths of hell and removing from him the keys to death, hell and the grave. Jesus ascended into Paradise and preached the message of Salvation to the captives. Setting the captives free. According to Psalms 24 He returned to heaven with the souls from Paradise, thus leaving Paradise empty. "Lift up your heads O ye gates, the King of Glory shall come in." Who is this king of Glory? The Lord, strong and mighty in battle, the Lord, mighty in battle." Scripture says hell has been enlarged. Now to my way of thinking, since the earth is only so big, and hell has been enlarged, then it only stands to reason that Satan has taken over the empty place of Paradise. |
