1 | I can use Galatians 4:16 as a support. | 1 Tim 5:19 | TTime | 184499
Greetings Jonp, I appreciate your words, completely. Again, there have been several faithful people, who truly love the Lord leave the ministry, because in their words, they were getting off the "merry-go-round. It has been utterly difficult to try to invite people to come to the ministry, because they use "blatant hypocrisy" as an excuse. Now I have been this way for a long time, and I realize that folk will always use excuses, but my thing is as a previous real estate agent...I use to tell my landlord, if the tenant is complaining about the leaky faucet, as a reason to not pay rent...."FIX THE LEAK"! Again, I just think we should all try to represent Christ and his word at all times.... God Bless |

Thanks Jeff, I will continue to pray, I am very hard on myself, some have said to hard, regardless, I don't expect others to uphold God's word, while I do not...exactly my issue, if I have to comply, so should we all....in closing this discussion, with statements like that, I guess maybe that is why people feel it ok not to confront wrong doing, I guess maybe Prophet Nathan should not have confronted David about his adulterous behavior...that said I hope I have not offended you by discussing this....Again, I cannot expect to hold back discipline with my children because I know that I am not perfect...However, my children can attest that I allow them to speak to me "with respect" if they feel like I am in error, as a matter of fact, my son did a couple of weeks ago, and I DID NOT say, son Judge yourself...I acknowledge my wrong...God Bless!!! Did not mean to offend! |

3 | I can use Galatians 4:16 as a support. | 1 Tim 5:19 | TTime | 184464
Greetings Jonp, I believe that as with Moses, we should ALL strive to walk up right according to the word of God...and as Moses job was to sanctify God in the eyes of the people and therefore, as a parent I strive to represent Christ and set an example for my children. I guess I would best describe how my children would feel if they heard there parents who represent Christ was caught hanging out in bars with their peers, not witnessing, but socializing. Also, I think that one should not try to condemn or change, correct the word of GOD just to try to justify themselves. I find that the most conflict I run into is folk who simply want to do what they want to do. God Bless! |

Greetings Jeff, Please forgive me, in all "my" getting I like to get understanding...I appreciate your response, I just think I cannot be direct without being direct, if that makes sense. Now, I totally agree with you, as far as your upcoming dinner party, as I have/will be in the same situation. Again, I would be concerned if you are calling yourself a "Christian" representing Christ, and would be hanging in bars, clubs, drinking, etc.with the "very" people you say you are trying to win to Christ. I know we are suppose to hate the sin, but love the sinner as Christ did for us....I feel that we must allow those in our evvironment to come UP to the word of God, and not try to bring the word of God to our standards. I pray I am clear, I simply wanted to express the concern of having a leader with a reputation of drinking, etc, and hanging with people not claiming salvation, and then when I try to witness, they basically say to me, your "leader" I will leave it at that, was just at my house.....I trust you feel me, if not please pray if nothing else...The Bible says judgment will begin at the house of God, and I have heard in about 10 days, very tragic situations concerning people who did as Proverbs 26:11 says, one has been hospitalized with emergency surgery from DUI, and one is dead from a drug overdose..I am just concerning about the body of Christ. My desire is to try to represent him well, try NOT to bring any shame to him, and IF I do, own it, not justify... God Bless, and enjoy your dinner, (smile) |

Thanks Jeff, but I guess I have not really been clear. For one, yes I am very much grounded in the word. The question was actually for thoughts, and maybe experience. As far as the scripture you referenced, it does not apply, as this individual has expressed they feel that homosexuality, and drinking is ok. And I have actually spoken with some of those involved with him, and they basically have little to no respect for "salvation" and they feel basically church folk are simply hippocrates. As far as I am concerned when Jesus came into the presence of sinners, sick, etc., they left a different way, better than when he arrived, not he leaving in the condition, that they were in when he arrived. That said, if one will use this scripture to "justify" the behavior, then one should be changing lives, not having their life change.

Yes, that is exactly the scripture I was looking for. It is basically confronting leadership, that had reputation of hanging out with known drinker, drug user, homosexuals, and feels it it ok, yet the "worl" is frowning on the man and the ministry....HELP
