1 | Persicution | Luke 11:52 | ominous | 155271
p.s., thought i'd add this;Colossians 4:6, "Let your SPEECH be alway with GRACE, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." Ecclesiastes 10:12, "The words of a wise man's mouth are GRACIOUS; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself." 1Peter 3:15, "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with MEEKNESS and fear." Some need apply these.
2 | Persicution | Luke 11:52 | ominous | 155263
hi there obi 1,what exactly are the "keys" according to your understanding? i am not trying to be "stand-offish" or anything, as i also have met with aggression in this forum. according to the understanding imparted to me, the keys are the secrets of divine knowledge and faith, and also signify a direct link or relationship with God and Christ, and do not necessarily belong to any one particular "church" Luke 11:52. for God-thru-Christ chooses who so ever he will,Romans 9:16. As far as the Bible being changed goes, you are right to some extent; but we must believe that if the Bible is the word of God, then God has the ability to prevent his word from being distorted to the point that it no longer represents his will! This also is the reason that he has blinded the hearts of many, for they cannot change or manipulate that which they cannot comprehend! Please don't let the "behavior" of some discourage you from posting on this forum. Even today the spirit of the pharisees is with us!
3 | What is the significance of the feet? | John 13:8 | ominous | 155183
The washing of feet is a sign of servitude, and humility. Matthew 23:11-12, "But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted." So if Peter would not allow his feet to be washed by Christ he was in a way, denying the service of Christ.
4 | What prophecies were fulfilled by Christ | Ps 22:1 | ominous | 154705
Psalms 22 for starters,is practicly word for word exactly what took place at his crucifixion, Isaiah 53 also gives account of his life and death, and his intercession for us. The old testament as a whole prophecied of his comming, and was fulfilled in him. I seem to sense that this question is rooted in contention.
5 | I need to know the direct translation | Jer 2:22 | ominous | 154692
The word batize literally means to wash. see Jeremiah 2:22
6 | I need to know the direct translation | Acts 1:5 | ominous | 154690
Acts 1:5, Matthew 3:11,Mark 1:4-8, Luke 3:16, 1 Corinthians 1:17, Matthew 20:22-23, 1 Corinthians 12:13. There has been much contention by OTHERS on this subject, but I stand my ground in the spirit of truth, John 14:17 Immersion in water is not necessary, for Christ himself baptizes us in the Holy Spirit, John 6:63.
7 | can you help me defind Zion | 1 Kin 8:1 | ominous | 154362
In Hebrew the word Zion means monument, mountain, something unmovable. The word is used in different ways in the scriptures, sometimes to designate the region in and around Jerusalem as in 1 Kings 8:1. and sometimes to designate the people or Israelites. Originally the Israelites were the only people who had a relationship with God. Psalms 147:20, so they were to be the monument on earth to represent God and to be an example for the other nations to follow who never knew the one true God.
8 | Where is Zion? | 1 Kin 8:1 | ominous | 154359
1 Kings tells us that Zion is the city of David,(Bethlehem). Zion is also used to sometimes symbolize the people (Israel)as in Isaiah 28:16. The word Zion comes from a hebrew word that means monument. As God originally meant for the Israelites to be his monument on earth, an example for the nations to follow. Other names for the nation include: Jerusalem, Jeshurun, Jacob, The daughters of Zion, depending on the context in which they are used.
9 | Two questions on this verse | Heb 3:13 | ominous | 154003
today means basicly just that. in other words encourage one another every day, and if you see your brother or sister in a state of weakness or error, admonish them at that very time, do not put it off or wait; same as let not the sun go down upon thy wrath. the longer one is allowed to remain in error the stronger the dillusion or doubt grows. as in the previous verse an evil heart of unbelief is the seed of doubt, which must not be allowed to take root.
10 | The Interpreation of #'s | Bible general Archive 2 | ominous | 153682
the best place to find out about the spiritual signifigance is the kabalah. though considered "occult" by many today, it was common practice in old times. the number 5 represents power, severity, and or justice.(depending on the context). three does not really mean "the holy trinity" as modern christianity understands it. but the trinity is an expression of 1,2,and 3 combined. one is the crown:knowledge; meaning god. two is wisdom; the reflection, or image of one, the son. three is understanding; the wife of two, also being another emmination of one. from the union or marriage of two and three proceeds the creation. this is what is known as the trinity today. the rest are, four is mercy, six is beauty, seven is completion, eight is glory, nine is foundation, 10 is kingdom.

14 | Ominus what say you? | Bible general Archive 2 | ominous | 153594
i did not say that the bible called baptism a ritual. i called it a ritual. it was just a right of passage an outward showing of faith.i am redeemed by christ, as there are many who, being baptised turn back. as for scripture well let's see; theres matt 3:11, mark 1:8, luke 3:16, john 1:33 all say about the same thing, then theres 1cor 1:17, hebrews 5:12-14 which end the thought in 6:1-2 and in the old testament theres jer 2:22 nitre by the way is a hard soap and if you're one of those who dont read the old testament read matt 13:52 in hebrews 6 when paul says leaving the principles of the doctrine of christ, he is reffering to the basics, and saying we or the church should be growing in understanding and not stuck in an infantile mentality.
15 | What of Baptism? | Bible general Archive 2 | ominous | 153588
baptism was at first, an outward showing of faith and was symbolic of being made clean through faith. but after the resurrection jesus said in acts 1:5 that we would be baptized by the spirit. to me baptism is a ritual, and some who partake in ritual, think the ritual itself gives them more virtue than another. same as the jews thinking the law gave them more virtue than the gentiles.
