1 | What does it mean in the Bible when it? | Romans | Baptistbred | 94337
In Ge. 3:17 and Romans 8:20 it explains how the earth was cursed when man Adam sinned in the garden. The earth was originally made perfect (Ge. 1:31) So originally we "belonged" as part of the sinless earth, because there was no sin existing at the time. When sin came we and the earth were cursed. When/if we became believers in the gospel, we were then no longer part of the earth, because we are no longer under the curse of sin. The earth is still cursed (Rom. 8:22) and those who have not recieved God's gift of salvation. (John 3:36) This is what I see from scripture as the explanation.
2 | Is Bankruptcy Stealing? | Bible general Archive 1 | Baptistbred | 78322
Psalms 37:21 I feel for you and agree with that overall "chicanery" used by many of these companies is wrong, nevertheless when we sign up for a credit card, we agree to thier terms no matter how unreasonable they may be. We have the option of not agreeing to those terms and to search for other means of finance. My brother got into many thousands of dollars worth of debt by credit cards when he got married 8 years ago. He quickly realized his mistake and changed his borrowing and spending habits, but still they are just now coming to the "victory mark" in paying these debts off. Many justify tax evasion by pointing out the unfairness of the government at times, but still Jesus paid his taxes even though He knew the government was corrupt. It is a good sign that you are concerned over this matter and shows you want to please God. |

3 | Women Pastors? | 1 Tim 3:2 | Baptistbred | 77889
I am sorry but there is none. 1 Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the "husband of one wife", vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Titus 1:6 If any be blameless, the "husband of one wife", having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. 1 Timothy 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. |

5 | i did not get a satisfactory answer yet | Philippians | Baptistbred | 64150
Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man,He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. After the humbling of incarnation, Jesus further humbled Himself in that He did not demand normal human rights, but subjected Himself to persecution and suffering at the hands of unbelievers and submitted Himself to His Father in order to be a sacrifice for our salvation. |

7 | NIV comments? | Psalm | Baptistbred | 46230
Psalms 199:89 In the last few months I have spent many hundreds of hours researching the bible version issue. All my life 99 percent of the Christians I have associated with have been KJV only.Few have done any research on WHY they believe this so I did my own research. To answer your question, the NIV is based on a different text than the KJV so there are many TEXTUAL differences even before the translation itself comes into play. The NIV is based on the same text as the Nasb and most modern versions. Is it the best text? That is a matter of opinion. I will be quite honest, no one has convinced me that either text is "better" than the other. Let's say the Alexandrian type Text (NiV, Nasb) is the best text.(The KJV is from the Textus Receptus). I do not believe the NIV is even the best translation from this text. It tends to be too interpretive in places and paraphrases often. Now, any bible read and studied diligently is a "good bible", but if one wants the most accurate translation of an ancient bible text, I recommend the NKJV,NASB, and Green's Literal Bible. (KJV is an exellent translation and anyone does well to study and be happy with it, but if one wants a bible in a more up to date english, I reccomend the above versions. I am used to the language of the KJV and love it, but often consult other versions.)Sad to say, this issue will rage indefinitely but just keep loving God's word and if your conscience won't allow you to use another version right now, don't! |

8 | Proof of wrong spirit vs. Holy Spirit | Matthew | Baptistbred | 46222
I feel for your situation. I believe the true Holy Spirit must do the revealing to him. I believe the references I have suggested are ultimately the only answer to anyone who is a skeptic to the things of Christ. Matt. 16:13-17. (Specifically verse 17)

11 | Do people die before their time? | Bible general Archive 1 | Baptistbred | 40743
Some interesting scriptures. Psalms 55:23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee. John 7:8 Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come. John 7:30 Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come. Ecc. 7:17 Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time? |

12 | gap between Gensis 1:1 and Gensis 1:2 | Gen 1:1 | Baptistbred | 40603
I tend not to believe in the gap theory. Why? #1. God called His COMPLETED creation "very good" in Gen. 1:31 which would not be true if evil had entered the universe at that time. #2. Death came by Adam (1 cor. 15.21), so destruction and death could not have occurred previous to Adam' fall into sin. |

15 | Mt.25:29-Stewardship of gifts or life??? | Luke 12:20 | Baptistbred | 40578
Beans, I believe that you are right in your understanding of this verse. This is not talking about money. This ,I believe is speaking of the offer of salvation or God's gift of His grace. If one recieves God's gift(s)(salvation and what it brings) he has SO MUCH FOREVER. If one does not, all that he possesses in this life will be taken away.
