Bible Question: In the parable of the talents in Mt.25. Verse 29 talks about who has will be given more and who ever doesn't what he does have will be taken from him. When I read this I felt like this was speaking of life versus eternal life due to the stewardship of the creation that we have been given to be stewards of and the acceptance or rejection of the Lord Jesus Christ, (truth). In light of how parables illusrate indirectly their meaning and also the refrence to the "weeping and nashing of teeth" I don't believe this is referring to any thing of monitary value. I have tried to find out more on this particular section of scpiture but to no avail, an associate Pasor and friend of mine did not want to fully agree with me on this matter due to our lack of study on it and I agree with his decision. I would really be blessed by any correct doctrinal insight on this. Thank You for your efforts. |
Bible Answer: Beans, I believe that you are right in your understanding of this verse. This is not talking about money. This ,I believe is speaking of the offer of salvation or God's gift of His grace. If one recieves God's gift(s)(salvation and what it brings) he has SO MUCH FOREVER. If one does not, all that he possesses in this life will be taken away. |
