2 | Trinity Doctrine? | Bible general Archive 2 | punkiedo | 107726
Thank God There is someone else here that does not believe in the trinity doctrine. Matthew 28:19 says baptize in the NAME (SINGULAR) of the father and of the son and of the Holy Ghost. Ok Jesus Said in John 5:43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. Then he said the holy ghost was sent in Jesus' name too. John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. And like I have said before I am a daughter, I am a sister, and I am a girl but I have a name. I am a body, soul, and spirit, but when I sign my checks I don't put body, soul, and spirit. They wouldn't cash it. The same with Jesus. He is the father Isaiah 9:6 said his name would be the EVERLASTING FATHER. he is the son. and he is the Holy Ghost. He is God. Manifested in the flesh. In Jeremiah I believe it says that God bared his arm. If Peter was wrong on the day of Pentecost when he said repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of JESUS. Dont you think Matthew (that wrote Matt 28:19) would have stopped him and said no that's wrong? But he didn't. He was there. In fact acts 2 says Peter STANDING UP WITH THE ELEVEN. Show me anyone who was baptized in any other name |

3 | Is Jesus YHWH? | OT general | punkiedo | 107202
Yes Jesus is YAHWEH. In the old testament people did not know God's name. Moses knew him as I AM. When they came to get Jesus in the garden John 18:4-5 Jesus said who are you looking for. And when the soldiers told him he said "I AM". Now several versions of the bible differ, in the KJV it says I AM he with he in italics, because it was not in the original greek text. Other versions like Websters version or word English version leaves out HE. The bible records in all versions that the soldiers "fell back" because of the POWER of the name. I AM. Jesus said that "I and my father are ONE." John 10:30 in Isaiah 43:10-11 it says:Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. Isa 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. Jesus God. 1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. John begins his book with the beginnig or creation of the world "In the beginning was the WORD and the word was with God." Goes on to say that by the word (god) all things were made and without him nothing was made that was made. But Verse 14 interests me in John 1 it says "And the word (we have established the word was God.) was made FLESH and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory as of the only begotten of the father full of grace and truth." Interesting Huh? Also, trinitarians believe that Jesus is literally sitting at the "right and of the father." My bible does not say sitting AT the right hand it says sitting ON two different words with different meanings God "stretched forth his HAND" I believe it was his right hand he stretched forth. (Isaiah 59:16)Isa 45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none BESIDE me. I also think it is interesting where it talks of Jesus' birth in Isaiah 9:6 it calls Jesus the "EVERLASTING FATHER" (just blows me away Jesus is the Father, the son, and the Holy Ghost (John 14:26)) Anyways, I didn't mean to write this much but YES Jesus is YAHWEH Jesus is ELOHIM Jesus is THE I AM. Jesus is the Father. The son. and The Holy Ghost. Just a tidbit of info and you can research this it wasn't until the coucil of Nicene in 324 AD that people even considered a triunity of the Godhead. Up until the Council of Nicene Jesus was considered God. I don't know about you but I want to believe the bible, not man. |

5 | Isaac - Abraham's "only" son? | Gen 22:2 | punkiedo | 112695
You are right that Abraham had more sons, but God ONLY recognized Isaac. Isaac was Abraham's TRUE son because the promise was made to him and Sarah. Not to him and all those other women. This tells me that when Abraham went and tried to "help" God that he created ENEMIES for his seed. Read the word. Ishmael was one of the most persistant opponents to the Israelites. The promise wasn't for just a son. It was for a son with sarah who had NEVER conceived.

This is the King James Version. It's really my favorite cause it's just so poetic and flows. but the other versions are good too. Psalm 34 1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. 3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. 4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. 5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. 6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. 8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. 9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. 10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. 11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD. 12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? 13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. 14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. 15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. 16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. 17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. 18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. 20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken. 21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. 22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. |

11 | Another Counselor? | Is 9:6 | punkiedo | 113173
You know Tim to be honest with you when you said that I was like, woah wait a minute I have read that before. I was going to call in reinforcements (ask my pastor, who is also my dad) but then I was quickened in the spirit to read this scripture. So I will answer you with this. And just so you know I prefer KJV, not saying one is better than the other, it is just my personal preference. John 14 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Ok in the same breath that Jesus said that he says in verse 18 I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU COMFORTLESS I WILL COME TO YOU. So Jesus is going to come as the comforter? But he just said he was going to send another? In the same breath my dear friend he says, "At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you." So the comforter will be in you and Jesus says he will be in you. Interesting, just proves that they are 1. There is no triunity. And interestingly enough it says in verse 17 that "but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." How could that be? He is sending someone else right? But he dwells with them abd SHALL BE IN THEM???? Because Jesus is the Holy Ghost. |

It is found in Isaiah 38 7 And this shall be a sign unto thee from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he hath spoken; 8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down |

14 | Christ's Passion - how severe? | Is 52:14 | punkiedo | 114604
I honestly don't think that the crucifixion was something pretty. I think this movie portrays it well, but I think it was probably a lot worse than what is shown in the movie. Refer to Mark 14:65, Luke 22:63-64, In the NIV of Isaiah 53 it says he was "CRUSHED" for our iniquities. I believe in my heart that he was litterally beaten to a bloody pulp. Plus they plucked his beard. I know how bad it hurts to pluck my eyebrows, so it was aweful. But that is just my oppinion. Isaiah 53 4 Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. 8 By oppression [1] and judgment he was taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken. 9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand. |

15 | Is healing a guarantee?? | Is 53:5 | punkiedo | 113393
Psalm 103 (KJV) 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; *Does he forgive ALL your iniquities? If your answer is yes then he heals ALL of your diseases. Mark 16:18 (KJV) They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. It says they SHALL recover. Not they MIGHT. James 5 (KJV) 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Once again it says they SHALL be raised up. Not they MIGHT. But in this verse it is a question of FAITH. Jesus said Luke 18:8 b (KJV) Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? It is a question of faith. You can say I believe, but do you have the faith? |

16 | Is the Virgin Birth of Jesus a myth? | Matt 1:19 | punkiedo | 107899
No it is not a myth. young women in those days were not like today. They had to remain pure until married or else they were put away. so even if in the old testament it says young woman EITHER WAY to me that means virgin. You have to look at the culture.
17 | Where the Scriptual proof? | Mark 16:16 | punkiedo | 111216
Ok first of all Jesus did not say Mark 16:16 until AFTER he was risen. Luke 23:44-46 The temple being destroyed was symbolic to destroying the old custom. Have you not read Romans 6:14-15 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. 15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. The law killed, the law's punishment was if a woman commits adultery she is stoned. Grace came by Jesus Christ. John 1 16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. |

18 | Please explain John 19:27 | John 19:26 | punkiedo | 107840
Was Jesus human? Uh, I'm not sure what you need explained. Mary was Jesus' mother. He robed himself in flesh so he had to have an earthly mother to be flesh. Read Matthew chapter 1. The only other thing that could need explaining is why he singled her out. Could have been making sure she understood that the flesh was dying. That the next time she would see him his flesh would be glorified, and he would be going back up. Or maybe why he called her WOMAN instead of mother needs explained? He did that several times. My best advice is if that is your question take it to him and ask him. I'm sure He will tell you.
19 | Cornelius not saved when Spirit fell. | Acts 11:15 | punkiedo | 113404
Out of curiosity, what is the question here?
20 | Was cornelius saved by spirit | Acts 11:15 | punkiedo | 113481
I don't really understand why you say he wasn't talking about the pentecost experience when he said like it fell on us in the beginning. Because when Cornelius got the Holy Ghost it says they knew because THEY HEARD HIM SPEAK WITH TONGUES what happened in Acts 2? They were filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak in tongues as the spirit gave them utterance. In other words my answer is this. No one is saved until God comes back. Sorry, no matter what you believe the bible says Matthew 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. So the Holy Ghost wasn't a "free ticket to heaven" but each time the gospel was preached during the birth of the church in Acts they recieved the Holy Ghost. So YES it is a factor in salvation. It is not THE ONLY thing that saves us. You have to repent and be baptized too each account they were baptized also. The reason I have such a problem believing that the Holy Ghost is not essential to salvation is because of the encounter with Simon the Sorceror. In Acts 8:12 it says but when they believed Phillip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. And in the next verse it says "Simon believed also." But it does not say that Simon got the Holy Ghost. It does say that he believed, but notice he still wasn't saved even though he believed. And it goes down and Phillip sent for Peter and John. Peter was given the keys to the kingdom in Matthew 16 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. And it specifically says they sent for him so they would reveive the Holy Ghost and in verse 16 it says "For as yet he was fallen upon none of them only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus" So even though they believed. THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE HOLY GHOST. Hope this helps all the references are Acts 2, 8, 10, 19 Those are the recordings of the Holy Ghost falling. Which by the way it does not record that the Etheopian Eunich got the Holy Ghost Phillip didn't have the keys. Peter was the one who opened the door. That's why they sent for Peter. But once the doors were open they all had the power to pray over people and they receive the Holy Ghost. (Just a Thought) Punkiedo |
