1 | confirmation of word from the Lord | Judg 6:37 | okjoek | 106718
Let's say I feel/think/sense the Lord is telling me to do a particular thing. Is there a reference (or references)in the Bible that would justify my asking the Lord for a confirmation of this this by/through another person? Is this "putting out a fleece"? |

2 | confirmation of word from the Lord | Judg 6:37 | kalos | 106719
"behold, I will put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor. If there is dew on the fleece only, and it is dry on all the ground, then I will know that You will deliver Israel through me, as You have spoken." NASB Judges 6:37 "Gideon was not here seeking to learn God's will, because that had already been clearly revealed to him (vv. 14,16). He put out the fleece for two reasons: (1) to strengthen the weakness of his own faith; and (2) to give him evidence that would convince the people that he was really God's instrument. This is not to be taken as the usual method for discovering God's will. See Prov. 3:5-6; Jas. 1:5-8" (Note at Judges 6:37, New Scofield Reference Bible, Oxford, 1967). |

4 | is there another type of confirmation? | Judg 6:37 | kalos | 106726
'I hear some folks say "if it is a word from the Lord, it will be confirmed by another person..."' okjoek: Whenever you hear someone say this or that is a Biblical principle or that it is true, always ask them: "Where in the Bible does it say that? In what book, chapter and verse does the Bible say what you said it does?" When folks say "if it is a word from the Lord, it will be confirmed by another person", they are making an assertion. When another person makes an assertion, we do not necessarily have to prove or disprove anything. The burden of proof is on the person who makes the assertion. Peace to you, kalos |

5 | is there another type of confirmation? | Judg 6:37 | okjoek | 106727
kalos: thanks for the replies...didn't think I had read anything like that before but I did do a lot of reviewing and couldn't find a thing...reading and re-reading the Bible is always profitable so I still came out way ahead....suppose this was just His way of getting me back in the word? Again, thanks. |
