Let me add that many people have an agenda in this area and that tends to distort the truth. A few years ago the King James Only people put on a big push to eliminate any translation no KJV. Thankful this failed! However the fallout is still occurring. Many people know more about what is wrong with a particular bible than they do about what is right! I think any major translation is fine as long as you stay from the New World Translation which is Jehovah Witness based, and personally I avoid the New International Version and The Living Bible. You can't go wrong with The New American Standard Version. |

EdB seldom have I run into a person reading the NWT but it has happened maybe twice, by their ignorance, as it was given to them by a JW. I used the 1985 NIV a lot at first, and as I grew that changed to the old NASB as it was nore accurate, but the OT was still hard read from. I have worn out two NASB Bibles and I have decidedto live my life out with them, its to much work to remember just where all the notes I have made in a new Bible. Not only that a well used bible has a very nice feel to it. I remember this from some where, I do not remember where, " a bible falling apart is a sign of a soul that is not." Justme |
