Subject: The right Bible for you? |
Bible Note: Doc, I can't understand how people of any age that can read can not understand the KJV. Heck I was raised on it from when I first started Sunday School. I put it to memory, and still today quote it first rather that what I have learned as an adult. Frankly, people do not how to think throught problems or reading the English of 60 years ago. Today many schools only teach youngsters how to PRINT, no cursive any more. My local school just this year changed their mind and are once again starting teaching cursive in second grade. But my grandchildren say they can not read my notes I have to print. The NASB when updated was a wonderful move, but I still have a older NASB, I used to have an American Standard Version Bible I bought in Seminary, but lost in a move or two. The Holman Christian Standard Bible is IMO is excellent Bible in addition to the NASB as I study. I like how it used Yahweh in the OT and in the New it uses Messiah in the places it should read as such. For me if the NASB would use these names of God and Jesus Christ where is calls for it then the NASB would be just about perfect. Justme I |
