1 | If not saved and suicide done Lost??? | Bible general Archive 4 | EdB | 234164 | ||
I believe the real question is, "Can a Christian commit suicide?" As defined suicide is an act of hopelessness. Can one that truly believes in Christ be without hope? If so where did their hope go, Jesus promised never to leave us nor forsake us. |

Edp, Remember the Bible says we will not be be confronted with more than we can handle. It doesn't say Christians will not be challenged...in fact it says the opposite. Witness.... Job. G-d did not forsake Job. G-d allowed Job to be tribulated. A change in mental capacity producing suicide and it's effect on ones eternal salvation is G-ds to know. But, common sense tells me that G-d would not allow a mental condition...involuntarly induced...causing suicide...to impair eternal salvation. |

G Preston I don't believe Christians will not be challenged and I believe like Job we will have hard choices to make whether to lose all hope and give up or to serve God. Remember even job's wife suggested that Job curse God and die. I think this is talking of suicide. Look at Joseph, who had more reason to commit suicide, his very life threatened by his brothers, who then sold him into slavery, then he was lied about and thrown in prison, after a time he was given a glimmer of hope by the wine server and baker who forgot about him. Suffering 15 years of hopeless imprisonment all for something he never did. The point I'm making is if we have made Jesus Lord of our life we have hope. Jesus promised never to leave us, so if we find ourselves without hope that means that Jesus was never truly and fully Lord of our lives. Our "salvation" was nothing more than lip service that we hoped would buy us a ticket to heaven. We never fully yielded our will and being to Jesus. Scripture says we must die to the flesh and become new creations. What many want to do is to be able to call on Jesus in times of need but determine their own course on everything else. They never really had the hope that comes from making Jesus totally and fully Lord of their lives |
