The problem with trying to answer your question is there are various theological views that offer varying opinions. Some say yes everyone is written in and as they reject Jesus their name is removed. Some say you name is only written there once you have accepted Jesus. Others say only some people are chosen and have their names written in the book. Some say once your name is in the book it will never be removed. And others say you name can be removed if you sin once your name is written in the book. The combinations are almost endless and any discussion of them on this forum has time and time again proven to lead to arguments that eventually shift to personal character assassination. Therefore Forum guidelines suggest we don't go there. It is like the old saying don't argue religion or politics. |

Neither Arminian or Calvinist would deem it wise to build doctrine on figures of speech. Consequently, the doctrines are built on didactic teaching; subsequent to that the figures of speech are understood within the doctrinal position. In Him, Doc |

I'm not sure why you felt it necessary to say what you did but you seem to suggest I built an opinion based on metaphor. Since I only listed a few common opinions and offered no discussion about them such as what they are based on. I don't see how you could reach that conclusion or even the purpose of you post. My intent was to present an understandable and valid reason why that question would be impossible to fully answer on this forum. Perhaps you simply wanted to prove my point. |
