Dear CDBJ, Thanks for your response. I think we are in accord with the view that true believers won't retire from serving God in all aspects of life, be he a layman or a pastor. Changing fields? I hardly say agree or not. I believe that God assigns different herds of sheep to different shepherds, examples I can think of are : the Israelite in Egypt to Moses, gentiles to Paul. Perhaps the retirment system employed in most churches today confuse us. The last thing I would say, we should give great honour and respect (as Paul has taught) to all submissive pastors (whether retired or not). God bless. Azure |
