NO GOD DOES NOT HAVE WINGS. WE ARE MADE "IN HIS IMAGE AND LIKENESS" WE LOOK HOW HE DOES. IF HE HAD WINGS SO WOULD WE. IN FACT MANY BELEIVE THAT ANGELS DO NOT HAVE WINGS. |

When the Bible says that man is made in the image of God, it does NOT mean that man "looks how He does." Wherever did you get that idea? God is spirit.

kalos, isn't incredible that there are people calling themselves Christians whose spiritual discernment is so dim and Bible knowledge so limited that they fall for the absurd blunders of theological dunderheads like Copeland? ..... "Oh, but I know of a couple of people who have actually seen God," they say, believing these ridiculous reports of misguided souls who have had "experiences" and been made privy to "special revelation" while, at the same time, completely ignoring Christ's words in John 4:24. "God is spirit" It's a wonder they bother to read the Bible at all, since it is obvious they prize their own private "experiences" and their own private "revelations" far more than anything Scripture says. Though I may be looked upon as a relic from the past and viewed as a skeptic at best and a weird heretic at worst for embracing sola scriptura and denouncing as utterly false these spiritual "experiences" as well as any and all claims to special and personal divine "revelation," I stand on the authority of God's word and on it alone. Concerning all spiritual matters, if the Bible doesn't teach it, I do not believe it because, stripped of all its trappings, any teaching not supported by Scripture is nothing but a lie. --Hank

NYP: Thank you so much for your "Amen"! I rather needed that tonight. Would you believe that I'm come under fire on this Forum today for saying what I said in this very post? The correspondent was concerned that I might hurt someone's feelings! Brother, I'd rather speak the truth in defense of the faith and the word of God and let the chips fall where they may. Christ leaves no room for His followers to compromise with the world or with false teaching and false teachers. I rejoice in the petition of Peter, John and their companions who were under fire and facing threats: "And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence" (Acts 4:29). Again, thanks brother, and may God bless. --Hank

No doubt, dear brother you can take pleasure in being reminded that it has already been foretold that many would rather conform to the ways of the world than go against the tide. He knew you would be a "tide breaker" before you ever got your feet wet. |
