it is quite obvious that God puts the rulers in power. He uses these people for His purposes, whether they are good or not. As for not talking about political issues when they pertain to the Bible, I believe that is a predjudice, not biblically based. I believe the question was asked in relation to wanting a Biblical answer. Many people don't know everything there is to know, and just honestly want answers, which they assume they might get here. The only problem I can see is that some people on this forum try to mask rudeness by making other people feel small or like they have done something wrong. If we want to elect a godly president to run our ungodly country, we need to find out everything that the candidate stands for, which can be a long process. I do not see any biblical basis for not getting involved in the elections of our presidents, afterall, we the people are the ones who have to live with whoever is elected. As God is actually in control of who is in and who is out, we should make it our business to know what they stand for and what is coming for this country. Above all,we all need to pray as the christians we are to put God back into the government. It could make all the difference in who HE puts in office. God Bless Believer |

believer 2004: Your post is posed as a question, but it is in fact nothing more than a statement of your opinion. If you want to ask a question, please do and try to make it biblically oriented. It has been pointed out several times by a number of long-time users of this web site that this Forum is a forum for Bible study. It is not a place for venting political opinion or discussing current political issues. Issues such as abortion, the gay agenda, etc. have emerged as political issues to be sure, but they are also biblical issues and hence proper on a Bible study medium such as this Forum; but extended debate and discussion about candidates and their political parties is not. Forum guidelines forbid this sort of activity and seasoned users of this Forum stand firmly against it, not out of prejudice as you suggest, but out of a concerted effort to keep this Forum on track by keeping it centered on Bible study and nothing else. Please accept the rules of this Forum and abide by them. If you wish to make political statements, there are probably other web sites that would welcome your input, but not this one. --Hank | ||||||

The statements I made were not my opinion. They are a fact. I was answering to the fact that it seems everytime someone asks a question, the "long time" users of this forum oust them out with their holier than thou attitudes, much as the pharisees did to Jesus. I was under the impression that this forum was for further study of the Bible. And it is, as long as the "long time users " don't object. The question the man asked WAS Biblically based and I was trying to give him an answer to the question he asked which the"long time" users of this forum didn't. Furthermore, My statements were not political in content, but Biblical. If you will read your Bible, it is full of "political stuff." You should spend more time answering the questions on a Biblical basis, and not your"opinion." I will not be a party to such prejudice and will find a site where there are real christians who will give real biblical answers to real Biblical questions that the "long time users" of this forum who are too busy passing judgement to answer. In closing, I will pray for the people I have talked with on this site and hope that they open their eyes to the people they are turning off of God with their rude answers and snide opinions. God Bless You All! Believer |

believer, Before you pull the plug and run, let me offer up a challenge: I thought you said you'd be one to "tough it out"? Quitting is easy Misty! The grass ain't gonna be any greener anywhere else, trust me. If you truly are committed to making a difference, stick around and be part of the solution, not part of the problem! Misty: To paraphrase John Maxwell, I could give you a dozen reasons to quit this Forum. I could have that many myself! I'm more interested in the reason(s) "why" you came to the Forum to begin with. As he (Maxwell) said, "If you start something for the wrong reason, you'll quit for the wrong reason too". Think about it before you let your emotions drive your decision. BradK, As you requested, I did the profile. You can read it. Most normally, reverse psychology doesn't work on me, but in this instance, I'll take your challenge. I am not a quitter and never have been. I did start this forum for the right reasons. I wanted fellowship and learning, as well. Psalm 46:10 popped in my head as I was sitting here thinking about how I would reply. No matter what anyone says, I am not going to let a little disagreement run me off. We are all here for a bigger purpose than we realize. Obviously, I am led to stay here and stick it out. I will give you scripture when I can. What some call my opinion is really the way I interpret things, because there are no two people a like. We can read the same book and not get the same thing out of it, that's what makes us human. There is unending love in the Bible which I intend to learn, explore and enjoy with the people on this forum. I expect for my take on things to be heard as well as yours. With Love in Jesus Christ, Misty |
