In answer to your question about where to look it up, I recommend the following websites: www.carm.org/dictionary.htm www.m-w.com This is how www.carm.org/dictionary.htm defines 'exegesis': 'Exegesis is when a person interprets a text based solely on what it says. That is, he extracts out of the text what is there as opposed to reading into it what is not there (eisegesis). There are rules to proper exegesis: read the immediate context, related themes, word definitions, etc., that all play a part in properly understanding what something says and does not say' (www.carm.org/dictionary.htm). Merriam-Webster Online www.m-w.com I suggest when you look up a word at Merriam-Webster Online, that you not only look at the definition that appears on the page, but also that you click on the links given for more information about the word. Grace to you, Kalos |

"Exegesis" Just a fancy way of saying, "saying it like it is." And a whole lot more difficult to pronounce. My tongue is still tangeled up in my dentures! GB |
