Hello chesed, What you have stated is that none of the prophecies were about Jesus, and that he applied them to himself because he felt like it and not because they were supposed to be about him. Is that really where you want to go with this? Steve |

By the way, Is it just me, or is everyone seeking to put a label on me? I do not subscibe to any one denominational (or Catholic) theology...I simply have come to some conclusions over many years of study. I can understand some of your frustrations...my wife has the same difficulty with trying to pin me down. I just believe what I believe. :) |

Hello chesed, It isn't that you don't subscribe to a particular denominational doctrine. What you are putting forth runs contrary to centuries of Christian teaching. You are trying to swim up Niagara Falls. Steve |

Yes...and centuries of Christian teaching are not always right, my friend. I think Luther would have something to say about that... | ||||||

Chesed The fact that Luther fought a corrupt practice within the church does not give us the carte blanc right to reject all other church teaching that we may disagree with. I know this is a common attitude that, "if authority said it, it must in itself be wrong" This is a very dangerous position and many have found themselves positioned outside of the truth because of it. You said even your wife has a hard time pinning you down. I can understand this because you produce no tangible evidence to support you position but merely voice objections to points of view that counter your claim. Perhaps if you would tell us exactly what scripture upholds and sustains your thought we could then begin to see where the problem lies, in our exegesis or yours. EdB |

EdB, I will certainly do this. Please allow me some time to get some thoughts together. I have not yet finished my own systematic theology :) |
