Pardon me, is this not a discussion forum? Does everyone have to agree? Are there people here who are the ultimate authority, or are we all equal? I am not trying to be rude here, but this is the impression I have received. Like I have said before, I just don't agree with a trinitarian view of the OT. I DO BELIEVE in the trinity because I have read about it in the NT. You will not find it the OT unless you bend the scriptures, which I am very much against. There was a trinity, yes, but God wasn't pressing the revelation of it to people who already were struggling with polytheism. Have you ever tried to exlain the trinity to someone from Africa? They simply say that the trinity are three gods- simple as that. The same reaction would have been given by Israel. |

Chesed While the Trinity certainly existed in the Old Testament your right in that God did not fully reveal the nature of Messiah other than He would pay the price for sin. As time pressed on God revealed more, He was shown to be Son of David, And when draw closer to the time of His birth we see God revealing even more information. God also started to introduce the Holy Spirit as the Old Testament writers began using terms like The Spirit was upon him or David had the Spirit of God. One other thing to consider, while the Bible is clear to lead one to salvation I do not believe one can see all the intricacies of the Bible Theology without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In the Old Testament we know the men and women acted as the Spirit lead them. So I see no mystery in believing the Holy Spirit illuminated the prophecy of the coming to Messiah to the Old Testament saints. You said we see and understand the Messianic prophecies today by 20 20 hindsight and in point your correct, however in many cases the Holy Spirit is still required to fully illuminate the total truth of them and I believe He did that in the Old Testament times as well.
