This is my opinion and I do not speak for Lockman. Thread 127351 which refers to another thread was probably restricted because some people refused to accept the truth as presented by so many especially the excellent job done by TGC in post #127294. The question is did God create Evil. Isaiah 45:7 "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things." KJV Seems to imply God did but this is direct contradiction to the clear teaching in rest of scripture. TGC clearly and carefully explained that apparent contradiction as not being a contradiction at all but rather Isaiah 45:7 us talking about calamities of nature rather than the very essence of evil. Some people refused to accept this and continued to argue on. In doing so they began to attack others and result was something that could be very confusing to a new Christian or a seeker. Therefore to keep the discussion from the eyes of the innocent it was restricted. Everyone can continue their discussion for as long as they like they just won’t see their pontifications in bright lights. As to what doctrine to avoid and what is safe, you can discuss anything as long as your are in fact seeking truth. If you want a soap box to expound ideas that are counter to orthodoxy you will probably find your post restricted. There was nothing wrong with asking the question ‘did/does God create evil’. However after the answer was repeated many times and summarily ignored it became very evident it was no longer an innocent question but rather an attempt to soap box opinions that have a tendency to bring into question the basic tenets of Christianity. There comes a place in any discussion on the Bible that the we have to accept God’s word in faith not everything can be proved without a doubt and to sit around and repeatedly question something serves no purpose and brings only confusion, doubt and contention. EdB, I did not ask why the topic was restricted. I asked for a list of the doctrines represented by this site. Your opinions are for another time and another discussion. Please do not expound on the topic in question, as I want answers, and I do not want this thread restricted as well. If you know the doctrines, please list them as I requested. "Anything, as long as I'm in fact seeking truth," has led to my question. If you do not know the doctrines, then please allow someone else to list them. Thank you for your response. Ancient |

Ancient Attitudes like this have a tendency to get us into trouble. Again there is no particular topic that a no no. However lousy attitudes and argumentative natures and cultic ideas are. Once again if someone is seeking truth they are at liberty to ask any question related to the Bible they may have. However if after a time it is found that they aren't looking for an answer but rather a soapbox from which they can expound their rhetoric and that rhetoric is not promoting Christ and the basic tenets of the Bible they are usually restricted. Personal attacks is obviously another reason threads get restricted. As for the doctrines represented by this site that is very easy. Every doctrine found in the Bible and accepted as authentic doctrine by the general Christian community. Many people find doctrine they feel are in the Bible, which aren’t accepted by the general Christian community, these are considered aberrant teachings and are treated as such. If your looking for a list of aberrant teachings perhaps you will find what you looking for at Equip.org or one of the other apologetic web sites. As for a list of topics you can discuss let your motivate be you guide. If you have an honest question ask, if your asking to gain attention, make a point, harm some else’s faith or for some other self centered reason remain silent. If your going to make a comment on someone else’s question first ask yourself is this really a Biblically supported answer or is it my hot button for the day, does my answer edify or tear down, is my answer directing a person back to authentic Christianity as defined by the church is it taking them down a path I have found, does this answer increase of decrease a person’s faith, and lastly could it be a reason for someone to stumble?
