Sonlight: The question never should be how many people the WOF preachers bring into their fold. It's like asking how many people can be deceived. The question on the table is, and ever ought to be, is the gospel of Christ being preached in all its purity and fullness? Put the garbage called Word-Faith that is being dumped on ignorant people under the searchlight of Scripture and it is found wanting every time. 1Pe 1:22 Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, Joh 17:23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. (NAS95) It would seem that we all have a long way to go to be perfected in unity and sincere or unfeined love one for another. Can this stop now? sonlight |

Sonlight - "Can this stop now?" If you are asking can (or should) the Word-Faith heresy be ignored for the sake of unity, my answer is an unvarnished No, it should not be ignored. Do you not think it possible to be unified in error and false teaching? I do. But is this the kind of unity in Christ the Bible talks about? Of course not. To achieve unity for unity's sake at the expense of sound doctrine is not a desirable goal. Christians are to preach the gospel and oppose false teaching wherever they find it. Here's what Paul said: "All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. Preach the word; be diligent in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine but, after their own lusts, shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." (2 Timothy 3:16; 4:2-4). --Hank | ||||||

Hank To you also I give a hardy amen most excellent answer. I would still like an answer to the subject Justme brought up. Why do WOF adherents feel it is okay to attack non WOF preachers with impunity and make fun of various denominations. Yet the minute someone says something about them they run behind "touch not God's anointed" EdB |
