Subject: Women Preachers? Yes or No? |
Bible Note: Sonlight - "Can this stop now?" If you are asking can (or should) the Word-Faith heresy be ignored for the sake of unity, my answer is an unvarnished No, it should not be ignored. Do you not think it possible to be unified in error and false teaching? I do. But is this the kind of unity in Christ the Bible talks about? Of course not. To achieve unity for unity's sake at the expense of sound doctrine is not a desirable goal. Christians are to preach the gospel and oppose false teaching wherever they find it. Here's what Paul said: "All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. Preach the word; be diligent in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine but, after their own lusts, shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." (2 Timothy 3:16; 4:2-4). --Hank |
