Hi Just, I'm not sure how to answer this. While the Lord Jesus did pay the penalty for sin, there is no Scripture that says He took away all sickness. And Scripture states that He took away the curse of the Law (i.e. guilt before the righteous standard of God)--Gal 3:13. Steve |

Steve you bring up an excellent point. If sickness was done away with for the believer by the work of the cross why did God provide a prescription for healing, James 5:14-15, in His letter to believers. Another interesting question is why is the leaves of the tree of life Rev 22:2 needed for the healing of the nations? Also read Deut. 7:15 "The Lord will remove from you ALL SICKNESS; (emphasis mine) and He will not put on you any of the harmful diseases of Egypt which you have known, but He will lay them on all who hate you. Here was promise of freedom from sickness before the atonement of sin on the cross. EdB EdB |
