Hi Weezy and welcome to the forum. If you actually meant the word “sanctification” I can possibly help but if your question is about “sacification” I’m afraid I can’t. The word sanctification is used of Paul in the following. 1 Cor. 1:30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God--and righteousness and sanctification and redemption-- The word sanctification, in essence, means “set apart”. A person is set apart when they put all their earnest desire for eternal life in the person and work of Jesus Christ, God unique Son. Here is the word in the original language of the New Testament, the Koine Greek as per Strong’s. hagiasmos, Greek 38, Strong’s hagiasmos, hag-ee-as-mos'; from Greek 37 (hagiazo); properly purification, i.e. (the state) purity; concrete (by Hebrew) a purifier, holiness, sanctification. The word is used, with reference to the believer in different forms. 1. As having been sanctified in the past, 2. Plus they are being sanctified at present and 3. They will be sanctified in the future when they will be resurrected from this earth. The word "saint" is a diritive from the same word Enjoy the forum, CDBJ |
