1 | How can moses say about his burrial? | OT general | ischus | 115975
BradK, I agree with these general statements, and I do not subscribe to Welhaussen's views on the bible. It is clear that Moses was not the only author of the Pentateuch however, and to say that he was ignores both internal and external evidence. ischus |

2 | How can moses say about his burrial? | OT general | BradK | 115985
ischus, I'll leave my response to these 2 points: 1. I never said anything about Welhaussen's Views, etc. ( I don't even know who he is); 2. So YOU say! What internal and external evidence has been ignored? Would you care to provide us with some? Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

3 | How can moses say about his burrial? | OT general | ischus | 116003
BradK. Why is it that some of the pentateuch is written from the first person (Moses) and that some of it is from the third person? Does this not show that someone other than Moses was writing? In Deuteronomy, do you think that Moses was writing down his speaches while he was talking? Do you think that Moses is the author of Numbers 12:3? Is it not obvious that there are two different accounts of the creation in Gen 1 and 2? Do you think Moses wrote both of these, even though one is more traditional, poetic, with much older Hebrew, and does not contain the name Yahweh, while the other is more theological and focussed and logical? You already know that I believe that the bible is God's word- my point is that he used more people than we give credit to in order to give us his word. ischus |

4 | How can moses say about his burrial? | OT general | BradK | 116006
ischus, Well, no I didn't know what you already believed about the bible, that it is God's Word. But, you've clarified that point, and on that we can agree. Your "why" questions have been answered as far as I'm concerned. You still have not provided any conclusive Biblical evidence or support of scholars who would say otherwise. I'm only asking- reasonably- that if you truly believe what you're stating, then back it up with something other than your opinion:-) Is that fair? Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Fair. :) I will bring some stuff home from the library either today or tomorrow, unless I can find something on the internet. BUT- if you do agree with me on any part of what I said please tell me and save me the trouble of spending the day in the library. :) ischus |

6 | How can moses say about his burrial? | OT general | BradK | 116012
ischus, Let me say this: It's strictly YOUR choice to persue this topic or not! I'm not in agreement with you on debating the Mosaic authorship of Deuteronomy- or for that matter any other Canonical Books. As to the reference to religioustoerance.org. Don't waste my time, please! This is very liberal site that disputes essentially ALL of the Cardinal Doctrines of the Christian faith, Biblical Authority, the Diety of Christ, etc. This will be my final question and response to you, ischus: why would someone who claims to be "evangelical" and "conservative" hold to such views? Answer if you wish, but I have better persuits of my time:-) God Bless, and best wishes, BradK |

BradK- sorry about that site- I have never even heard about it... I just got it off of a search engine that taked about documentary hypothesis. If you would have read my whole post you would have seen that I DO NOT AGREE with it, but that I wanted you to see the argument. It is pretty foolish to not even look at the information and discount it as heretical without even reading it, just because of the website. ischus |
