And He answered and said, "Elijah is coming and will restore all things; but I say to you that Elijah already came, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wished. So also the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands." Then the disciples understood that He had spoken to them about John the Baptist. --Matthew 17:11-13 See what Scripture in context will reveal? Certainly you don't fancy YOURSELF to that end-times prophet, "Elijah"? --Joe! |

2 | Question on spiritual covering? | Bible general Archive 1 | Elijah | 12429
Part two He is the image of John the Baptist, with the Spirit and power of Elijah He is being sent to open the way for the second coming of the Messiah ( Like a root out of waterless land ) he had no one to guide him, no one to teach him truth, no one to tell him who he was, he had to find his own way. He had to come to know who he was. (Image of Moses) ( His visage was marred more than any man ) visage means the part of him you can see, his face will be marred more than any man, almost as thou, he was wearing a helmet, but he wasn’t born this way, God will make him this way, he will come forth in power and than God will change him, and they will say that God stuck him because he was evil, ( stricken by God and afflicted) because he angered the ministers because he questioned there teachings before there people and he healed those they couldn’t heal, therefore the ministry declares him evil. (The Antichrist) because he comes forth just as the Bible describes the Antichrist) He will be both blind and death, yet he will both see and hear, but he will not see with his own eyes, he will see with the eyes of the spirit of God, in the same way God sees, and he will not hear sounds or peoples voices, he will hear there thoughts, he will know there hearts, just as God knows there hearts, for God gave this to him. He will be able to reach in to peoples lives where no other man can go, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to the sons and the sons back to the fathers and will restore all things. And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. Whether you believe this or not, remember it because it will come to pass |

3 | Question on spiritual covering? | Bible general Archive 1 | Reformer Joe | 12437
The last two verses of Isaiah 52 and the 53rd chapter of Isaiah speak of the Messiah, not Elijah. Jesus Christ is the "man of sorrows" who "sprinkled many nations." If you think that my interpretation here is "influenced by the world," then I guess Peter was as well. Compare 1 Peter 2:21-25 to Isaiah 53. The first few verses of the epistle also tell us that the followers of Christ were chosen to be "sprinkled" by His blood. It's perfectly clear from the New Testament who is the fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecy in the Old. When you carefully study Scripture, rather than inventing your own outlandish interpretations of passages, these are some of the wonderful discoveries you can make! Your exegesis of Scripture is so dreadfully poor. Just like the authors of the New World (mis)Translation, you twist Scripture to suit your own unsupported views. That is what we call heresy. --Joe! |
