1 | Question on spiritual covering? | Bible general Archive 1 | Shannon | 10808 | ||
I have been facilitating a women's study for almost seven years. A new member has approached me and said that I should not be leading a study because a Pastor did not assign me as a leader. Is there scriptural basis for this? She said I wasn't under spiritual covering because a pastor didn't ask me to lead the group. I'm devastated to think I may be doing something wrong. Please help me with specific scriptures if this is correct. Thanks in advance, Shannon |

Does anyone else see the irony in this situation? On the one hand, we are arguing over the question of whether one needs the church's permission to lead a home Bible study. Nearly 50 postings have been submitted. A home Bible study might affect half a dozen people or less. On the other hand, anyone who has Internet access is free to come to a Forum like this and post their own Bible interpretations and doctrines (whether sound or unsound) to a potentially unlimited audience on the worldwide web. What is wrong with this picture? Are we straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel? --JVH0212 "In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, and in all things charity." |
