So if I believe in Jesus as my savior (which I do) and ask for His forgiveness (which I do everyday), I'm saved? So what happens if I kill someone or commit adultery? Will I still then be saved? I don't think it's that easy. That's why I believe it is a mystery. God is the only one who truly knows our hearts. | ||||||

JMR, it is not because of anything that we DO. We are 'saved' on the basis of faith, not works. There is nothing that we can do to 'achieve' salvation. Ephesians 2:8-10 "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." There is nothing that we could ever do to deserve what Jesus Christ, the Son of God, has done for us on the cross. Nolan |
