Hank, There are many different people in this world. People have different views, values and beliefs when it comes to God. Not everyone has to agree. They can agree to disagree. I hope that by discussing, talking about it we grow. Either one way or the other. By talking today with you it seems that you choose to try and enforce your views on me. I pray that this isnt the case in other aspects of your life (ie. views of women, african americans, hindus). If it is then it would dangerously border the world in which Hitler tried to create. A world without homosexuals, handicapped, jews and other ethnic groups. The philosophy behind that was very similar for how you conclude it to be evil. I pray that through understanding, tolerance and love would not only help in the middle east conflicts, but also you personally. I studied Humanities with a majoy in cultural philosophy. The way you speak, seems as if you are not even attempting to try to understand other views. I dont quote scripture only for the fact many evil people before me have as well (ie. slavery, wars, killing). Remember the inquisition? God meant for his word to be applied to life, yet how was it that these people came to the conclusion these evils are the will of God? Today we shudder when we think of that, but in that time, in those places....there was the bible. What I AM doing however, is combining the bible, prayer, and my personal walk with God to express what I believe God to be to me, and trying to understand the hatred and persecution of the gay people. Intrestingly I have no intention of changing your views or defending mine. I just wanted to express my views of God and scripture. God wrote on every heart the truth. This is my truth. So, as you wish I will leave this place letting you continue whatever opinion you want to express. God welcomes me with open arms to his house. Florian |

Greetings Florain! I'm not sure if you were responding to Hank or me. Your post was attached to my post. In your profile, you say, "I am a Christian. I am gay." How can someone be a Christian if they are engaged in open sin against God? The Bible is God's self revelation. In it, He tells us how one must be saved. He tells us what is and isn't sin. He tells us how we should live. If you ignore what He says and simply live by 'your truth'. That is nothing more than idolatry. I urge you to get to know the God of the Bible for He is the only true God. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Hello Tim, I am glad that you know my life so well and haven't judged me. A few years ago I was involved in a car accident, resulting in the paralysis of just under my stomach downwards. I am living the truth to what I believe God is to me. If you care to view any of the links I submitted in previous posts, you can clearly see the Bible as it was written long ago, through translation and reference mistakes has lot its origional meaning in regards to homosexuality. This is why I believe it crucial to consult the source (God) through prayer and meditation. I believe it to be also vital before passing judgement on anyone, to first really go in depth and get the facts. I dont hold it against you or any other "Christian" who shunned, judged, hit, or otherwise seperated me from Gods love. I am praying for you and others like you to stop and see that this behavior is not right. If God came to me, helped me, and told me these things, I know you would deny them as blasphemous. When Christ walked the earth others did the same to him. I leave you with a thought from scripture: Matthew 5:10-12 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. |

Greetings Angellightboy! I am really sorry to hear about your accident. I pray that God will both bless and bring healing. However (here comes the dreaded other shoe), you are not being judged, hit, or shunned my friend. You are simply being called to account for ignoring what Scripture actually says for what you want it to say. Scripture is God's self revelation. It is both objective and authoritative. If I want to know what God thinks about something, I simply have to go to the Bible to find out. While there may be some specific issues not addressed in Scripture, the issue of sexual sins is very clearly addressed. There are many sexual sins listed in Scripture: Adultery, promiscuity, fornication, polygamy, and homsexuality. I do not believe that homosexuality is a special 'class' of sin. But, Scripture is clear that it is sin nonetheless. I could not in good conscience tell someone who was having an affair that it was 'okay' as long as they 'loved' the other person, any more than I could tell you that homosexuality is okay if you 'love' the other person. Being a Christian means submitting to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. That means that I have to live the way that He says, not the way I want to live. I am very familiar with the different approaches that people have taken to try and explain away what Scripture says, but it doesn't work. Lev. 18 is very clear concerning sexual sin. Lev. 18 is not talking about temple prostitution. It is not talking about promiscuity. It details very specific acts of sexual sin. Among those listed, are homosexual acts. I urge you my friend to submit to the Lordship of Christ in this matter. You need to serve the God that really is, not the God you want Him to be. What you are doing is no different than what countless others have done down through time. You have a 'sin' which you are not willing to stop, so you find ways to justify it. You find ways to explain away what Scripture actually says and make it mean what you want. The problem is that Christ calls us to no longer yield our bodies to sin (Rom. 6). The last quote from Mt. 5:10-12 was a horrible misapplication. First of all, you are not being persecuted at all on this forum. Secondly, homosexuality is called an abomination in Scripture not a 'righteous' act. :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Hi Tim, Thanks for your notation! You are right in Romans 6 when St. Paul talks about yielding our body to reflect God. This a point that I try to live by each day. I especially like 1 Cor 6:12-20. This describes that our very bodies are his temple. Whatever we do to them in a sexual context should be moral and right. Also in 1 Cor 7:17-24, breaking it down vs 20 and 21, I interpret slave to mean "subject to this world". As subject, I believe two things play out here. The spirit and the body. The body is created by God but subject to laws of this world. The spirit however is free from all. When vs 21, where you called while a slave? I interpreted that to mean in our individual circumstances in life we each have different points. I happened to be in a gay disco when the spirit called me. I looked around, I was not happy with what I saw. I was not happy with me and who I had become. Being gay was not the issue. The lust I felt from everyone else was too much. I left. Verse 24 means God put us there for a reason in that place. That the spirit called us there, and because of this we grew in Christ. I dont know the word in each bible, but mine specifically uses the word "state". This means to me the point where God came into our lives to change our hearts. I remember my mother telling me as a child God wrote right and wrong on every heart. Based on the state I was in, the scripture, and through prayer, this is what I concluded. A single monogomous relationship in true love, is what God wants us to have. If Jesus came down and spoke to you right now, would you really take out your bible and say, I cant find that anywhere, you didnt say that here, or (now this is extreme) your wrong? I dont think you would. I believe that however we are and live our lives, the question really comes down to this, do we love completely everyone and everything. When we love we have God. The American Indians for example, some lived their life through love. Because they didnt know Jesus, doesnt mean they didnt know God. I dont believe they will be eternally damned for simplicity of not knowing Christianity. I also don't think it is a fair comparison of a monogomous gay relationship with an adulterous relationship. Also when I applied the Matthew verse, I am recalling being kicked out of my mothers church, shunned at many other churches, being spit on in school, being kicked, judged, ridiculed by fellow "christians". I pray that they see no superiority in being Christian, but knowing they found love in Christ and therefore have the burden of passing love on to others. Not through conversion, not through ministering a particular religion, but through your actions, through your words, do you (speaking generally) show others God's love and permote love? Would love to hear your take on this Tim. Thanks for your well wishes. Your friend in Christ, Florian |
