Brother Tim, How do you receive from God? Salvation comes from "CONFESSING and BELIEVING" does it not? You say that Abraham did not go around saying... How do you know that? Do you think everything Abraham did was written down? Did the WORD not rather say that he believed God? That was manifest in his actions, how he lived. I would dare say that he did talk about being the father of a great nation. He certainly told Sarah. The Word commands us to teach our kids, to talk about the commandments of God! Talking changes the atmosphere. Hearing and Believing are connected. Need scripture for that?? QUOTE As I have shown from Heb. 11, those who were living by faith did not receive what they were having faith for. Did they receive other things? Yes. /END QUOTE That's not accurate! But I have already addressed this! QUOTE Yet, if the WOF teachers are correct, they would have. /END QUOTE Who have you been listening to? All WOF preachers I have heard speak of FAILURE to RECEIVE from God... but your example is totally not applicable- what you keep referring to is from another dispensation! It JUST was not possible, NOR was it intended to be!... so there was no failure on the part of the v.13 folks! |

Greetings Earnest! You wrote: "You say that Abraham did not go around saying... How do you know that? Do you think everything Abraham did was written down?" We know because Scripture tells us: Rom. 4:18 - "Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, ??So shall your offspring be.? 19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead?since he was about a hundred years old?and that Sarah?s womb was also dead. 20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised." Notice what v. 19 says. He faced the fact that .... It does not say that he spoke that his body wasn't almost dead. It doesn't say that he confessed he was a young man. It says that he faced the FACT. WOF teachers tell us that our words create reality, so we can't admit that we are sick, or we will stay sick. So, we have to go around speaking what we want. This isn't what Abraham did. He faced the facts, but he believed that God was able to do what He promised in spite of the facts. But, it was not his faith which produce the promised result. It was the God who promised. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
