Imf: Welcome to theForum! I mean that from with sincerity. I totally that the Christian life is a walk of faith and the verses you have mentioned back that up. I do not have a single thing against preaching the Word in or of genuine Faith. What I stand firnly against is false, devicive, money hungry, low life, phoney self proclaimed preachers, like Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, Morris Cerullo, Fredrick Price, Kenneth Hagin, Essek Kenyon, John Avanzini, Robert Tilton, Marilyn Hicky, Paul and Jan Crouch, Charles Capps, Jerry Savelle and the list could fill this space. WOF as a movement is as dark to the core as hell it's self, and the WOF is one of satans best way to begile gullable weak people. We do not have faith in faith, which wof teacxhes! We have Faith in the LORD JESUS. In deed Jesus gives us the faith to believe. This debate on wof is brought up quite often. I have yet to have one wof person give me one example of an Apostle alive today. I have yet to have one single person prove someone being raised from the dead as is clamed. Wof is based on on Theological thin ice! I would incourage you to get CHRISTIANITY IN CRISIS by Hank Henegraaff. If his statements were not true and provable beyond a doubt, then would not these teachers(I use the term but should say false teachers) sue foe damaging these men's ministry? None have even tried! Why? I would not be against any preachers who "teach scripture based on faith." But the deranged people I have listed are of satan, most certainly are wolves in sheeps skins. I hope I have cleared up any confussion you may have had about my faith, and in whom I have faith in. If you are a defender of these false teachers, atleast you have been warned aboout them. I DO NOT want to dialogue about this culy wof,but will dialogue about some more productive area of Christianity. Peace. justme |

Okay, Jesus said peace I give to you but not peace of this world but of me. The definition of peace is wholeness, nothing missing, nothing broken, sufficient to meet every need, and freedom from all fear. So peace covers soundness in the body, spirit, and soul. As a born again child of the most high God I have a right to have every need met as promiced in Philippians 3:19 my God will supply what I need-peace. So what need are you believing for?

Imf: I think you mean Philippians 4:19. I on several notes have messed up on giving the right verse too, so don't let it bother you. My need that I pray for is to be in the direct will of God. What else would or could anyone need or want? I see a big difference between wants and needs. I look at Philippians 4:11,12,13. Those verses put verse 19 in context. What do you think? justme |

You are right I was talking about 4:19. When we have a willing heart to love God and strive to be like Jesus we are in the perfect will of God. He looks at our hearts and can see beyond the confusions we feel sometimes. It is a satanic trick of the devil to try to make us believe that God doesnt care about us beyond what we need to physically maintain our life. He has promiced us that his plans for our lives are far beyond what we can imagine. So dont cut short your desires for material things they are in his promices. Every person considered to be important faith examples in scripture was very well off David for example loved God so much he gave 1Billion dollars of his own money to build a temple. Religion wants us to believe we are to suffer in poverty to be like Jesus but Jesus wasnt poor when have you seen poor people having to pay taxes that was Josephs reason for going to Bethelem. And could you up and move to Egypt for 2 years without cash? Or travel with up to 84 people like Jesus did? God wants us to tell the world about Him but we cant do that if we cant afford groceries for our families. So I think there is a difference between wanting to show up your brother how much you have and wanting to live well so when the world says why do you have so much you say (like Abraham) let me tell you how much my father loves me and how much He loves you.

Imf: You have a vaild point. In that order of thought, what do we say to Christians who are starving in Africa or South America? I live a comfortable life by most of the worlds standards, in compairson to third world countries. By rich fokes standards I would likely be considered poor. What standard should we use in determining gunine needs from wants? One year ago We went down to one automobile (a truck) because we felt is was not right for us. How do I understand why it is some people are blessed with health, yet others take health as a daily walk of faith? Are Christians to suffer? Thoughts? justme |

There is a saying you can give a man a fish and he will eat for a day or teach a man to fish and he will have food everyday. As we christians learn our covenant rights to be prosporus because the bible says in Jesus' own words (John 10:10) the theif comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy I came that they may have and enjoy life and have it in abundance to the full till it overflows. So when you and I have abundant life we can teach others to have it too. You and I could feed the impoverished nations or teach them that the God we know fed approximately 9000 people with a childs lunch. And would do it for them. The bible is full of abundance given by God to His people and a promice that he is no respector of persons, the same yesterday today and forever. So the same God that gave Solomon so much that he is still the wealthiest man ever who declared silver to be useless because he couldnt find anyone to count it for him wants you to have cars and houses and impressive clothes etc. I will find that scripture for you but in the mean time read 1kings4:26. God lives in a placed where the streets are paved with gold He doesnt have a problem with us being wealthy. We just have to find out who we are in Christ Jesus and believe that Jesus is our too much savior.

Imf: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly." John 10:10 NASB Updated. I don't see anything about "I came that they may have and enjoy life and have it in abundance to the full till it overlows." I think you have added to the text, and changed it into something Jesus did not say. What translation are you using? Following your train of thought, why did not one single Apostle die a rich man and have plenty. All suffered from want, physical pain, and tortured beyond belief. Where was this abundant life? I conclude that abundant life is not mearly physical or material. Paul said he had learned contentment in what ever state he was in. Is not godly contentment something the Christians of today experience so very little of? If we are looking for material prosperity as proof of Gods blessings then we are also saying without materialistic prosperity a person is not living the abundant life. I also find that Paul says that many have fallen into carnalality seeeking wealth. That's my version. When the Bible refers to streets being paved with gold, may I suggest something. What is the most precious element mankind has ever known? I say this with the higest respect, but is not Christ blood more valuable than gold? Some might well understand that passage to mean the streets of heaven are paved with the Blood of the Lamb more precious than gold. I believe God wants me to be a wise steward, and live simply. We strive to be simple and with that there is a joy and an abundance of all we need. I keep saying this but it bares repeating, there is a big difference in needs and wants. I might want prime rib and icecream all the time. However I would soon get sick and tired of it. Not only that it would be unhealthy. Do you follow my thoughts? justme |

My bible is the amplified version I didnt add to it. God wants to be first in our lives before family material things and anything else. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness: and all these things will be added unto you. Matt 7:33 kjv In vs25-32 you can read about what God provides for us saying also that all Solomon had couldn't be compared to what God wants us to have (my paraphrase). There is also the scripture that says would you being evil give your child a stone if he asked for bread and how much more does your father love you.Matt 7:9 Dont discount how much God loves you. In John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Who do you love so much that you would give your child? And if you gave your son would you leave the person you gave him for to be a beggar? The blood of Jesus is far beyond anything we could put value on only a fool would try. But if we are to live a life less than the promices of God would you consider He died for nothing. If Jesus lived only barely getting by why did he have a treasurer and why didnt Peter know he was stealing from it. Peter was not the silent type what do you think he would have done? Paul was content because he knew who he was and what his mission was and we can know who we are in Christ too. First by realizing that Jesus is our savior, our alpha and omega, and if you had been the only person in all time to believe in him to call his name Jesus would have gone to the cross anyway. He would have gone into Hell for you. Because he is the first born son of God and god is love. The sinful part would be to deny howmuch God loves you and not accepting his love. The word says the love of money is the root of all evil. Not money otherwise God could not have given Job double what was stolen from him, Abraham, Lot and Isaac great wealth, and Jesus' clothes were divided by the soldiers and bets taken because of their value. God doesn't have a split personallity. He wants us to have much so that we can preach his word to the world but we cant do that if we are living a life of lack.

Imf: Do you personally have monetary wealth, an abundance of materialistic things in your life? You do not have to answer. I have very rarely seen large numbers of Christians who are wealthy. justme |

I will answer you. I am not wealthy but I expect to be soon. Material things were an obsession for me the things we had and things we didnt have took up alot of thoughts. Almost a God like force in my life. Until one day I heard a message that included the scripture that Jesus said that we cannot serve God and money at the same time you either love one and hate the other or you will hold to one and despise the other. Then I figured Jesus is my Lord and Savior so I will give up my desire for material things because I want Him first in my life. Latter I also learned that God wants us to tell the world about Him and you cant do that living from paycheck to paycheck. It is a fact that no one would listen to a beggars message about how to get rich, and a person on a street corner yelling about the return of Jesus would not be received. In order to save lost souls you have to teach them that God is alive and loves them and doesnt want them to go to Hell. It takes money! So wealth is a tool to be used but not a god to be worshiped.

Ifm: I believe you are wealthy now! In James 2:5, "Listen, my beloved brethern: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?" If it is, according to the Bible, that life is but a vapor in time, why is important to be prosperious materialisticly or in material wealth? Jesus said His Kingdom was not of this world. Have you ever been to a third world country? I tell you they do infact tell others about the saving Mercy and saving Grace of the Lord Jesus. More times then not the people are dirt poor! But, they are obediant and TRUST in FAITh the Lords promise to supply their NEEDs. The Lord does do just as He said He would! The Lords example prayer says "Give us our DAILY bread" the example of Gods chosen people being supplied daily with mana is clear the Lord wants us to trust and rely on His ability to supply our needs. Often it is a walk of faith one day or even a meal at a time. I can say I know this by personal testimony. The Amplified Bible is just what it says, Amplified. This is not a word for word translation. So as you read it take into context what the meaning is. Taking it directly from the Greek John 10:10 says quote "The thief not comes except that he may steal and slay and destroy; I came that life they may have, and abundantly may have." Jesus Christ came to seek and save that which was lost. The abundant life is spiritual. In that, abundant life is transmitted into contentment, and peace with God in this physical world. If you took your theology of material abundance to Etheopia, Nigera or any where in Africa, no one would believe you, because Christians are suffering all over the world! Suffering for lack of clean water, food, shelter, clothes and much more. James 2:15-17 is clear as to what better off Christians are to do. This is the very central key to Christianity. How can you believe that the poor can't share the gospel effectively? They do every day, day after day. I stated that I would not debate WOF with you. I have been kind, respectful, and attempted dialogue with you. You have been respectful, but the dilogue is under gurded by the Health and Wealth message of WOF. I believe with what I've said and your responses, that there such a wide gap in what we understand about abundant life, we have a stalemate. I respectfully bow out, of continuing this debate. I agree to disagree. What I see is not being able to produce any change in thinking. I would challenge you to look very closely as to whom the wealthy are in WOF. Rarely is it the avrage attender. Always you will find the teachers and preachers living far above those they teach. Look at Jesus, He served those around Him. Jesus washed others feet, Jesus was the servant Christ, and we are to follow His example. Jesus was poor in worldy goods and lived quite a simple life style. With kindness and Christian concern, is it possible you have misunderstood the meaning of an abundant life in Christ Jesus? I do know we see the gospel from totally different perspectives. Think about what I've said and pray to have the real truth revealed to you. Peace. justme |
