Gen 1:24-25 describes the creation of animals. In Gen 2:18, the Lord states that it is not good for the man to be alone, and verse 19 follows this by saying (so)"Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name." It would appear that there are TWO creative events for animals. My inclination is that the creation of the animals of Gen 1:24-25 is simply restated in verse 19 and not a separate account. Please help with the context here! |

Mommapbs, out of the largess of my Arkansas heart, I'll be glad to give you my usual dazzling but less-than-brilliant and not-ready-for-prime time exegesis of the so-called two accounts of creation. The two accounts theory is wrong in my humble [but correct!] opinion..... God got everything right the first time around.... If you will be so kind, please place ID #48211 in the little box and give the enter key a gentle goose and presto! you will be ushered into the hushed presence of my post on the subject...... And by the way, the guy whom Norrie reported as believing that God later made a few animals just for Adam's amusement must indeed have a wry sense of humor; surely he can't be serious! But, come to think of it, we read from time to time some stuff on this forum that is no less nutty than this, don't we?.... I do hope you find my little essay on the creation account to be of some small help to you, Mommapbs. --Hank | ||||||

Thanks Hank - I'll check it out! I did a little "heads up" research about Dr.Dino and found enough controversy to make me a little wary. I agree with you and your oh so humble opinion :)about the God getting it right the first time. Just wanted the appropriate "ammunition" at my disposal to debunk the notion that God made just a few animals for Adam to play with! Looking at some of the animals that God created, I think we can assume that He indeed has a sense of humor! I'm leaving for the weekend, but will read your post and get back to you! Blessings, Mommapbs |
