Even though the Bible may not give specific reference to such happening. It does give us accounts of God's presence in a congregational setting which could infer to this and other manifestations happening. Acts 2:13 suggests this was most likely one of the manifestations. | ||||||

Dear Grubio, I think it is a stretch to infer that the disciples were falling over as if they were drunk. The context does not support such a conclusion. Those who supposed they were drunk were mere mockers who did not want to accept the miracle thar was occuring before their very eyes. John |

John, I cant disagree that it could be a stretch. However we must also realize that whatever was happening was not a little contained manifestation of God. It had to of been something that made the spectators attribute it to what they were used to seeing in drunkards and peter followed through with the explanation to discuss what was happening. It obviously was not a mocking but truly something not clearly understood that was manifested other than just the speaking in tongues. Whether they were slain or not, something very radical like it did happen. Now that is clearly there. |

Hello Grubio, Acts 2:12,13 And they all continued in amazement and great perplexity, saying to one another, "What does this mean?" But others were MOCKING and saying, "They are full of sweet wine." (Emphasis is mine). When the crowed began to realize that a miracle was taking place they were astonished! No other dramatic occurance was needed to account for their reaction. Imagine yourself being there. It would have blown your mind! John |
