Greetings charis and EdB! I use three TOTALLY FREE Bible software programs! The first one that I found was E-Sword, which is excellent!! You get a broad range of translations, utilities, search functions, commentaries and even maps that you can use. You can even download different translations in different languages like Chinese, Spanish, and French. I use the resource almost every day! (www.e-sword.net) The second one is called Theophilos! (www.theophilos.sk) This is easily the most expansive Bible software utility that I have because of the fact that ANYONE can write modules for it! You can download the program and and many as 9 translations (some in Russian) and (by using the Links page) you can gain access to many different modules and utilities! This is where I was able to find Martin Luther's 95 Theses and the Original Preface to the 1611 KJV, both of which I have posted to the Forum in the past because of this valuable resource! It also contains many "Jump Lists" where one can go to find Scripture that has to do with the deity of Christ, etc, etc.. Excellent Resource! Another TOTALLY FREE resource is the Online Bible. (www.onlinebible.net) I am just discovering this resource, but I have already found it extremely valuable with its broad range of translations! I was able to download the complete Latin Vulgate and the Septuagint (LXX) by use of this resource. However, the only Bible software program that I own that I have paid for is QuickVerse Deluxe by Parsons (www.parsonstech.com). This resource is excellent and overly stacked with extra-biblical commentary and materials that one can use. It also contains just about every English translation of the Bible that one can think of, but it is NOT free!! Blessings to you, Nolan |

Nolan Thanks for you input! I'm after more current material and I find many of these free programs use material that are very old where the copyrights have expired. Quickverse is very much like Wordsearch (STEP) and I have most of the their unlocks. I still waiting for what Nelson and Logos announced about 8 years ago or longer. At the time Nelson had agreed to allow electronic publishing by Logos of the books they came out with. Since then they have published some Bible packages but they have fallen short of what that announcement promised. EdB |
