1 | Who were the witnesses? | Bible general Archive 1 | Angel-7 | 21051 | ||
Hi, this is my first time here,but i would like to answer this question with what I beleive to be the answer.....In Hebrews 9:27 it says ..Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgement.. I beleive that this would rule out one of the 2 witness being Moses because he has already died...Rev ch.11 says that these witness will be killed and lay dead in the streets for 3 1/2 days..If it was Moses he would then die for the second time.....I beleive the witnesses are Elijah..2Kings 2:11--tells of Elijah being taken into Heaven with chariot and horses of fire in a whirlwind--..Gen5:24 says..Enoch walked with God , then he was no more, because God took him away...Neither of these men have died yet..I beleive this would fulfill Heb.9:27 for these 2 men...In 1Cor.ch15:52 we see where when the trumpet sounds we who are alive will be changed , clothed with immortality...1Thess4:17 says "the dead in Christ will rise first..then the rest of us, with them , will meet Christ to be forever with Him in the air..(those of us who have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior) ..there is one generation that will be alive when Jesus calls us to Heaven...not 3..That is why I beleive that Enoch and Elijah are the two witness...They still have a work to do for the Lord, and when that work is finished , and they die and then are brought back to life they are then called to Heaven to be forever with the Lord also..I know that many people don't agree with this, but this is what I beleive..God Bless you all.... |

Support and Question ........................... Dear Angel-7, Welcome to the Forum :) I agree with your hypothosis that the two witnesses are Elijah and Enoch. I have thought the same thing for a long time. However, I also have a question regarding your suggestion that each person can literally only die once before the "judgement". How do you reconcile that belief with people like Lazarus, Jairus' daughter, and Dorcus? Each of them died, was ressurrected, and assumedly died a second time. I am curious what you think about them. |

Personal Note ............................... Dear Angel-7, Don't worry about it. I was actually hoping you had an idea about how to reconcile those verses, as I have wondered about them for a while. Perhaps I'll start a new thread on that subject since it is not really the point of this thread. |
