For the most part she is very sound. Her idea in inductive Bible study is to let the word of God speak for itself. Only after you have concluded what the passage says are you to consult a commentary or outside source. Then only to insure you haven't arrived in left field.

Hi EdB! Sounds good! That is basically how I originally learned theolgoy. I was saved when I was six years old. I come from a non-Christian family, so I had no church or spiritual leadership for a long time. I started reading my Bible faithfully, and then meet an older man who took me under his wing. He encouraged me to memorize, ect... To make a long story short, when I got to college, I already knew theology. I just didn't know what it was called. So, I firmly believe that anyone can learn from Scripture. But, I also believe we can expand upon that knowledge by understanding culture, language, ect... Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

If that is really how you did it I would love to know where you stand on some issues. However I fear on many thing you may have been biased and not even realized it. Nonetheless I would like to explore this more, it would probably be better by e-mail.

Greetings EdB! It really is how I did it. I never read a theology book or commentary until I was about 20 years old. My "theology" was pretty well complete by that time. Since that time, I have completed two earned decrees. I have also worked with several different churches from several different theological perspectives. Concerning bias, I'm afraid we all have them, including me. I just know that I was never taught any bias, I learned mine on my own! :-) I am always open to just about any discussion!
